Mila made her way through the majority of the Desert now, it had been quite the trek. She had covered her face with cloth to battle the oncoming sand and now the area was transitioning into that of a more Fertile and Clearer area. It was definitely easier to traverse, she could relax a little. Though her pace still remained quick, taking the quickest most straight forward route she could.
It was quite the pretty area, and it seemed to get more vibrant the further in she traveled. It was obvious this place was well maintained recently and it seemed untouched by destruction. Though there was one thing about the desert that trumped places like this, lack of people and them getting in the way. As Mila walked through a path that parted the vast colourful fields of poppies, what seemed to be a patrol of horsemen headed in her direction.
A couple passed by her to stop her from retreating, the others halted before her, she was essentially surrounded. Four of them in front in a V like shape and two behind. They all had their weapons handy, four had spears ready and the two at the back had crossbows. Mila had used a cloth to covers Lena's head for now, she reckoned they wouldn't appreciate her carrying a severed head when they already find her very suspicious.
"Drop your bags."
Mila glanced over her shoulder at her large amount of goods she carried. She raised an eyebrow as she looked back at the one who spoke, his spear pointed at her. There were things in the bags that could be seen as suspicious, things she would use to defend herself like the tags she had used earlier to secure the perimeter of her camp. She did not want to cause them to get further aggressive with her however, keeping Lena covered and a wrapped up Samehada close she dropped her bags onto the floor.
"Have I done something?"
"You walked through our perimeter."
"I didn't even realize there was one."
Two of the guards got off their horse, one with their spear very close to Mila's back and the other began to rumage through. What she assumed was the one giving orders in this little group spoke with an accusing tone.
"What's your business here?"
"Just wanna get to the other side."
There was a pause, silence, like they were expecting something more from her.
"Really? That's all?"
"Yeah. I have no interest in...whatever is going on here."
There was an air of tension, Mila was calm, but she felt like they didn't believe her whatsoever. Maybe just taking a straight path wasn't the wisest, she just wanted to be quick.
"Look. You can escort me to the otherside no pro..."
"What's that?"
One of the guards gestured to her side, Lena's head that was covered up, but was obvious she had something else on her.
"Thought we told you to drop your bags."
"It's...delicate."
"Then place it down on the ground or hand it to the guard behind you...carefully."
Mila grimaced, her teeth grit as she now was faced with what she feared. She eventually let out a sigh and placed her hand on Lena's head tied to her waste.
"Now it's not what it seems like." She says as she uncovers the head, Lena acted dead, her eyes closed and her mouth open. Mila hides the threads that connected her to it and revealed the head. The Guards, shocked almost leaped back back, but they remained on guard, just more suspicious than before, weapons raised. "It's my bounty. I just need to turn it in to a nearby Warlord."
"Why didn't you declar..."
"Because I knew you'd all get jumpy! You're all ready to take me down just for walking across your field, you think me showing off my severed head would do me any favours?"
They hesitated for a moment, then the one in charge finally spoke. "And what, we just let you walk in when you have the potential to cause harm to anyone here, farmers, guards, our employers? You clearly have before."
"How about this. I just want to get through, you can escort me through and drop me off. I won't hurt anyone, if I wanted to well I would have done it by now. You're just doing your job."
The Guards didn't really seem to budge, their horses stirred a little out of restlessness. There wasn't much else she could say.
"You give us your weapon and we'll take you around the premises."
Mila was a little annoyed at the offer, though if anything giving them Samehada might work in her favour if it begins to consume their energy. Then again. If Samehada doesn't like them, well it might end up being a fight after all.
"Sure."
Mila holds out Samehada's hilt and one of the guard touches it, shivering and recoiling immediately. The other guards look at him funny and he goes to take the blade again. He gets a grip on it and he seems fine this time. Schwink!
"AAAAAAH" The Guard drops it once again, screaming in pain as he clutched his bloody hand, the blade has pierced his hand from the hilt. Rejecting the guard.
Mila rolled her eyes and from her torso a bunch of threads shot out to each guard, wrapping around their necks tight before swirling them around above her and colliding their noggins together with a thud. They all went limp and unconscious. She slowly put them down in a nice pile to the side of the road. They were too distracted by the commotion with the sword to react to the threads coming at them so fast, however Mila noticed a little pain in her shoulder blade area, she glanced over it and saw the Fletching of a crossbow bolt in her. One managed to react just in time, but his aim was off. Still, it hit and it hurt.
She walked over to the guard still clutching his hand in pain, he looked up at Mila who stood over him. She had left him be when she unleashed her threads.
"I told you, I'm not interested in stealing from your fields or hurting any of you, but you didn't believe me. I had to do this, you wouldn't have listened further. My Sword is a little picky on who can hold it."
She takes Samehada.
"Finally."
Lena speaks, the head. The Guard locks onto the source of the voice and screams before fainting. Lena raised an eyebrow and tried to glance up at Mila from her waist.
"Charming, maybe I'll just talk next time and they'll all do that."
Mila sighed, but managed a chuckle as she picked up all her bags and began to tie it to one of the horses. She got upon it and clicked her teeth.
"Hya."
With some speed they made their way across the fields to Leave the Landmark.
Jutsu Referenced
(Jiongu: Kuro Ito) - Earth Grudge Fear: Dark Threads
Rank: C-S Rank
Type: Attack/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: 30-80
Description: The basic technique of Kakuzu's unique Kinjutsu Earth Grudge Fear it allows the user to manipulate the threads that compose his body freely with each use. The user can not only alter his own body form and structure but also use the threads to attack or defend from incoming techniques. As Kakuzu's skin is still stitched to keep his humanoid form when not used, he can take advantage of this technique to propel his hands or limbs at great distances and grab a target. Its also this technique that allows Kakuzu to detach his masks from his own body to form the "animals" which he uses in combat.
Note: Can only be used by Kakuzu
