that would be soooooo anticlimatic if Shikaku and the other were like "hey we decided to abandon the HQ and save ourselves!" oh and yes, I agree 100% Naruto, and even Sasuke have had MUCH harder lives than Shikamaru!

When it comes to a hard life no one has it more than Choji, being the only fat kid on the village is really really depressing.
