[Discussion] Poll: Do you think religion is a good thing or a bad thing?

I think it's a bad thing. Basically if you don't follow my religion then we can never get along or understand the same ideals because your religion is better than my non religion way of living, buy this only promotes ignorance. It gives your mindset that brink of superiority for having so called "faith" in something that you cannot prove. Religion manipulates people with no type of thinking. It brainwashes them to the point where they would actively fight against ideals which would improve upon society but are viewed negative because their religion doesn't approve of it.

But what do you think?

Religion can bring people together, but it also pits people against each other.

I'm quite neutral about this, but I don't like religion one bit even though I'm a Christian.

People frequently pit science and religion against each other but religion is completely independent of science. The lack of understanding about the world was not why relegion came Into existence.

I don't follow any belief system

Atheist is the closest category I fall under but that in itself can be funny its the belief of the lack of a belief.

But as far as religion is concerned is it was fine for the time being but its really something we as humans should have out grown by now.

Back to science all I have to say about that is I have more reliance in it seeing as how its something every growing something always fixing itself to keep updated.

OT: religion can be both good and bad, it's controlling, some religions give you the death penalty if you oppose them or leave. on the other hand is what makes some people be humble and kind in order to get into heaven.
