Does the anime need manga validation in order to be canon?

Ok guys, girls, trolls and alts - lets roll! Vote and lets see the results based on your opinions.

My take on this is that the Manga validates the anime, otherwise anime events are filler.

Well the whole concept of canon and filler is to differentiate which material is apart of the authentic timeline of the series

Usually the original source material constitutes the correct timeline and if the original source material doesn't validate it their doesn't matter to general story

People usually say filler to trash stories tho it shouldn't stop enjoyment of material

Also with how integral the academy arc is to plot and how the mist arcs being giving validation in manga it's a good chance it will be canon down the line

Even better question: Does any series actually need fandom validation to be enjoyable?

Don't lose sight of what actually matters here and why we're all on NB celebrating this story in the first place.
What's more important- that Boruto is canon? Or that Boruto is fun? (Hint: It's the latter)

People get enjoyment out of saying what's canon or not just to be argumentative or accurate

I agree but it hurts my eyes seeing people spamming it is canon when this subject should be buried.

Me, I'd prefer to watch something that has direction. Not just a bunch of aimless, pointless, fillers. That's what having standards is. And like when an anime follows a "criteria", rather than just giving characters random feats and traits at random times.Good timing, to provide a better story.Despite DBS being the original, it still has things that kind of don't make sense or add up, or just isn't directed/orchestrated well, unlike in the manga. It's all about having good taste.

If it's a plot, to convey an even bigger plot...then that's understandable. But it all has something to do with the bigger plot.If the filler is made to go in depth of something that has something to do with the "canon" plot, then that's understandable too. Random, aimless, fillers? Not always interesting.

Its as canon as Boruto the movie(except the final boss fight) is as long as it stays consistent with the manga which so far it is. That said the creators should confirm this and end the confusion once and for all.
