and an average policeman isnt trained in Karate, though karate nowadays is a joke compared to its origin. if you want true self defense, go try brazilian jujitsu or wing chun. they are hard, but it does the job better.

True, dogs don't know right from wrong. To the dog, he/she saw someone attacking their master. To the police though, they saw a danger to themselves. Understandable on why the cops did it but to let it suffer they way it did was wrong. The owner however should have rolled the windows up enough for one to let the dog have air but two so the dog would not have jumped out. No one is perfect, No human nor animal is.

Well this is old news and you forgot to mention that police was there at a place responding to to a (armed?) robbery call when the *just a black guy* came, parked with loud music on ..... then he was negotiated to leave or shut the music or something similar and the scuffle broke out and a police out of nerve issues or stupidity shot the dog when it was approaching them (He should have kept the window shut).

Morale: Dont be oversmart in emergency situations, A robbery call scene is not the place to strut rights human or animal alike.

I know that guy was stuipd and dog acted naturally to protect his owner however this is a police fault ..

Also about your defense styles, BJJ would be the absolute worst defense against an attacking dog, "Oh no this dog's trying to eat my face let me lay down and grapple with it." Yeah that's smart. Also I have a strong sense you only mention Wing Chun because of the Ip Man movies coming out. If Wing Chun was so amazing as a whole martial arts then Bruce Lee wouldn't have learned from the best practitioner in recorded history only to create his own form of martial art. Ip Man was an amazing martial artist but that does not necessarily mean the art he chose is that great only that he was that great at utilizing it. Tai Chi can be just as strong as Wing Chun it all depends on the user.

Trust me dogs can be a *****, just a few weeks ago one almost chewed my middle finger off although it's severely lacerated to the point where you see the bones.
I'm not saying this because I hate dogs, in fact we own like five Pomeranian's but it doesn't change the fact that they can kill people.

It happened 4 months ago and I always watched it yesterday , it sad

I've seen the Segal videos and that's one of the driving factors that make me call shenanigans. The only Aikido clips I can come across are in a dojo not in a ring or octagon. Kyokushin has fighters who have fought in rings and octogans as have many arts including Wing Chun, Capoirea, Muay Thai etc. but every Aikido video is conveniently in a dojo sparring session. The principles are there I just think it's more of a form martial art than a practical martial art.

In almost every video if you look at the opponents feet you can see them jumping for the throw, a real life opponent wouldn't give you any assistance. I signed up for a few weeks of BJJ when I was younger and it took me 3 classes to realize my instructor wasn't serious. He told us despite size or weight if we did the technique we could toss an opponent(judo, which is in JJ and BJJ). He had someone smaller than me try to flip me and I didn't help him the way the instructors partner did in the demo. When the kid didn't flip me the instructor(who was bigger than me) showed him how to "do it" which he did everything the kid did only difference is the instructor was stronger than me and the other kid and bigger so he had more leverage.

The practitioner is really the key to a martial art, any style can be effective if the user is trained, fit and dedicated enough. Capoirea, for instance, sounds like a joke at first glance until you take into account it was a legit martial art created for fighting armed opponents and had to be hidden in dance when martial arts was banned. While a mediocre practitioner will leave himself vulnerable many times, a skilled user can avoid strikes and keep his opponent from setting up a stable base to attack from.

Yes over here in nigeria its is a delicious delicacy when roasted and cooked properly, i haven't tried it yet though but people say its better than chicken. >_>
