Hi I Have a question about natures. I don't really understand how nature's effect a Pokémon's stats. I would like to know how to get my Feraligatr to have the best stats as possible. I just obtained him from getting the national Pokédex And I want him to be one of the three guys I use at the battle frontier. So if you guys know how I could get him to have the best stats and which nature I would need please help me out. I want him to have good attack and speed.
I want him to be in the 300s for attack and defense. Thanks!

Certain natures effect certain stats... For instance, a Lonely Nature increases it's Attack, but decreases it's defense. Whereas another nature like a Timid nature increases it's speed but decreases its Attack.

--Natures increase/decrease amount of EV points towards a stat a pokemon gets. Some don't affect EV point gain at all.

--Every pokemon has EV points aside from experience points given towards the winning pokemon. Pokemon who sat it out but experienced a fight gets half experience and EV points.

--Every 10 EV points towards a specific stat nets you a guaranteed stat point once your pokemon levels up. Each pokemon yields different EV point values (Strength, Speed, Special Attack, etc.)

--There is a max EV point range, which I believe is 255. Obviously once the Pokemon is level 100, the chance for EV point gain ceases.

--Items such as Mach Brace increase EV point gain further.

--Pokerus virus increases EV point gain as well.

--Look at your pokemon's nature and the Stats page. Red is "higher EV point gain", Blue is "lower EV point gain", and White is "neutral".

If you want attack and speed then you have to choose one. In regards to obsolete 3rd gen competition and even current completive battling, Gatr isn't heavily used. However, his attack is probably his best asset, so I would go with a jolly nature. This will promote his speed and hinder his special attack stat. By running a set with dragon dance or swords dance Gatr's attack can get super nasty, so I'd focus on maxing his speed since Gatr doesn't have an exception max speed. Especially if your totodile doesn't end up having good IV's.

This too. You'll want to focus on this info as well. EV training is tedious if you do it fair and square. Get all the power items from the frontier, and try to get pokerus as this is the fastest way to get the job done. You can find out how these items affect EV gain on bulbapedia or serebi.
