Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Predictions

As many of you know, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are to be released in the future. For those of you unaware, the games are remakes of the popular GameBoy Advanced games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. There are expected to be many changes to the game besides the graphics. These include sub-stories, new areas, Mega Evolutions in accordance to the new Generation of Pokémon, Primal Reversion, and more.

Here are my predictions

1) Emerald Remake

I believe there will NOT be an Emerald remake. My only reasoning behind this is that the name should match the style of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. However, there isn't a "fitting" Greek letter that can be used in front of Emerald to make it seem on top. Omega and Alpha are opposites, and widely known. It doesn't make sense to me to try Mu Emerald or Nu Emerald. However, I do believe Emerald will influence the games in order to balance story lines and provide a updated story.

In the original Ruby and Sapphire, Wallace was the Sootopolis Gym Leader (8th Gym) and Steven was the Elite Four Champion. In Emerald, Juan became the new Gym Leader instead of Wallace. In turn, Wallace became the new Elite Four Champion. Steven was not removed from the game however. Steven is located in Meteor Falls, where he will face the player with his Pokémon ranging from level 75 - 78. (Very reminiscent of Red)

2) Steven Stone

Steven Stone (as his name implies) studies many various stones. As such, it is implied he will play a pivotal role in Mega Evolution throughout the game.

This makes me believe that Steven has both Mega Stones, BUT will only use 1 out of the 2 in his battle with the player.
(The rule for Mega Evolutions is that ONLY 1 Mega Evolution can occur per battle, but more than one Pokémon on the team is allowed to be capable of Mega Evolving)

3) The Elite Four

I believe the Elite Four will be based off of the Emerald Elite Four as opposed to the teams set in Ruby and Sapphire. They are all the same except for the champion. (Champion in Emerald is Wallace)

This shows the Dark-Type Elite Four Member, Sidney, next to a Shiftry. Also, Phoebe, the Ghost-Type Elite Four Member is next to a Dusknoir. Previously, she had two Dusclops, but after the release of Generation IV, Dusclops was able to evolve further. This is relevant.

Here's where I begin to unravel.

Based on my assumption of Steven, I believe all the toughest relevant characters in the game will have at least 2 possible Mega Evolutions. That means, Steven, The Elite Four, and The Rival

Regarding the Elite Four:
Sidney already has a possibility to Mega Evolve Absol. But if you look closely at the leaked image, you can clearly see Shiftry next to Sidney. Why is that? I believe it implies that Sidney's Shiftry is important. "Mega" important. Yes, I believe that Shiftry will also obtain a Mega Evolution.
Mega Absol & Mega Shiftry

Phoebe has a Dusknoir next to her in the image, which implies one or both of her Dusclops evolve. Also, she has two Banettes and a Sableye. Both of these Pokémon are confirmed to have Mega Evolutions.

Glacia only has two different breeds of Pokémon. Only because of my assumptions with the previous teammates, I predict Walrein and Glalie will receive their share of Mega Evolution

Drake is where the fun happens. I have no evidence to support my case besides my previous assumptions for Drake's Pokémon. But come on. Mega Salamence or Mega Flygon or Mega Altaria or Mega Kingdra. It'll happen either way

Wallace also helps my case. Gyrados has a well known Mega Evolution. Gyrados mirrors Milotic. Both have pre-evolutions of what are considered pathetic fish Pokémon. Also, they are Sea Serpent Pokémon.

4) The Rivals (Neighbor and Wally)

Unlike previous generations, the rival who also receives a starter Pokémon from Prof. Birch doesn't battle with the player with their final evolution of the starter they chose. Based on the starter the player chooses, the rival will have a different final team. (I'm using the Emerald version as I thought it works with my assumptions)

So we know well that the Hoenn Starters all have their own Mega Evolutions. However, because all the other difficult trainers before have at least 2 possible Mega Evolutions (Only a guess), I'm going to assume that the player's neighbor also has a second Mega Evolution besides the starter. Now considering Tropius is the only one present in all 3 possible teams, I conclude that Tropius will also have a Mega Evolution.

If I used the Ruby and Sapphire version of the neighbor's team, the only Pokémon that is present in all 3 possible teams is a Swellow. I don't believe a Swellow will receive a Mega Evolution because if it were to receive one, then the other starting bird Pokémon would have to receive one. (e.g. Pidgeot, Noctowl, Staraptor, Unfezent, Talonflame)

I think I'm beginning to be repetitive. 2 Mega Evolution possibilities, Gardevoir already has one, so since Drake has an Altaria, that's my guess.

That's everything. Basically, all I predicted were more Mega Evolutions (specific ones) and a story line more connected to the Emerald storyline.

I never said there would be an Emerald remake. Open the first Spoiler. I simply said the story would be more related to Emerald in both. Like it contains all the improvements Emerald had such as the Battle Frontier, the different 8th Gym Leader, Steven as the true champion, only he was hidden, etc

One of Glacia's Glalies might just turn into a Froslass, while Walrein might get a Mega evo. Or maybe you're right and they both will. =D

Nintendo trademarked the name "Delta Emerald" in December of last year I think. I find that interesting, and reason to at least not rule out the possibility for an Emerald remake.

I really want physical eruption. I play Ubers on Showdown, and Groudon could finally get some respect as an equally potent offensive threat as Kyogre.

Salamence will most likely get a mega forme, and I hope Quaza does too.
