Look, I know it's pointless, but I'm just arguing the plausibility.

So, we all know that the Uzumaki are relatives of the Senju. Why wouldn't the Uchiha have relatives? The Uzumaki share some features, like longevity, with the Senju, but each have their own jutsu.

So, the Nara clan shares a number of similarities with the Uchiha. They both are made up of members with black hair and black eyes. Both are renowned for producing geniuses. Both have highly demanding techniques that leave them exausted after using them. Both remain somewhat aloof from the village, living in seperate or remote areas.

Less definite connections are: isn't it logical for a branch clan of the flame and fan clan to be a shadow, which is cast by fire? Both clans have techniques associated with shadows (susanoo).

There really isn't any point to this other than saying a distant relationship between the two clans would kind of make sense.

Your right... that does make a lot more sense. Actually, all three of the Ino-Shika-Cho group could be related or branch clans. It would also explain why Sarutobi purportedly knew every justsu in the village since they implied that the techniques were only closely guarded and not actually kekei genkai. Well, I just made it cause I was bored.
