Another one of my poems. I'll share a little something with you guys. The day I wrote this poem, I thought it was my last day alive. So I thought why not write the last poem to show "I was here"? This is merely the inspiration that resulted.

"Heartstrings"

I've been hearing bells all day
Strumming like the piano it never was
Sleeping all day like there's no tomorrow
The world never was going to end
There's no tomorrow even in the dark days
What's going to end is your life
In the dark days will come a haunting
Your life is your past
A haunting that shakes your very marrow
Is your past a part of you?
In your very marrow lies the secrets
A part of you whispers untold words
Here lies the secrets of your future
Whispering words of what's to come
Your future is but a mere whim
Of what's to come in a blitz
On a mere whim you walk forward
As you blitz across the planes
Again you walk forward to the end
Across the planes of existence
In the end, you have left a blazing trail
Of your history that says
I was here
