Madara sensed Hashirama's chakra from miles away. Let's not mention Zetsus (created from Hashirama's cells) are all over the place as well. So he must be a pretty adept sensor...

That being said, I'm sure he could sense the chakras of the Tailed Beasts in Naruto.
