Or inconsistent logic atleast which is essentially the same thing. The gedo mazo is the husk of the ten tails, its remains after the bijuu are removed. The gedo mazo is supposedly inside obito HOWEVER the shinju tree is the juubi so shouldn't the tree itself be the gedo mazo/husk of the juubi? Remember when madara said he summoned the juubis husk from the moon during obitos flashback? The gedo mazo was sitting at top a giant bloomed flower which I assume is the shinju tree itself.. That being said shoundlt the gedo mazo be in the trees bulb and not in obito? I don't think there is a giant eye at the top but rather the mazo or a new one altogether.

The tree we saw wasn't the full Shinju, as Obito remained the Jinchuuriki of the Juubi and was still able to use it's chakra.

Therefore, the tree is just a manifestation of the Juubi's chakra, as chakra is the essence of everybody.

The plot hole is the shinju is the juubi and it is also currently the husk of the juubi therefore IT should be the gedo mazo.

It explains it perfectly, it's just your comprehension that fails.

And? It's not the whole tree.

Unlike the Bijuu, which are no more than chakra entities, the Juubi is more like a proper animal, which has a body and chakra which have been and can be seperated. Because the Juubi has a near infinite amount of chakra, Obito easily created a Shinju using the Ying-Yang chakra of the Juubi.

It doesn't matter if its half the shinju or the whole thing IT'S THE REAL SHINJU! Your logic is what's failing here I wish I could post scans on my phone but I don't know how anyways obito released the juubi from his back to create the shinju. The shinju is the juubi, the bijuu are the juubis soul split apart, the gedo mazo is the husk of the juubi, the shinju tree IS the juubi and it is now without the juubi/bijuus THEREFORE it is the husk of the juubi aka the gedo mazo!
