People cannot go anywhere because stone tiles get slippery and they slip and fall

Road crowns were higher than the sides to facilitate rainwater removal. Water flowed to the road edges where it passed into the flanking drainage system. In very wet areas, road crowns were even more pronounced. Verges were often denoted, and the road supported by, high upright stones. The Romans were always concerned about efficient drainage.
Nothing about slippery roads. I walked on stoned roads on rainy days before. Not that slippery.
