As obito is absorbing him, why cant he just kill obito? He has to be physical to absorb things, and madara could simply kill him right then and there. Kamui is not some absolute force that's unavoidable, even deidara could slightly resist kakashis rookie kamui.

Surely a juubi Jin could resist its pull and ***** slap obito.

Or because kakashi explicitly stated it was no longer good for long range because of his deteriorated vision, and that the closer and easier it is to focus on it, the easier and faster he can warp it.

He tried to but failed . Read the manga pls.
Also, you seem to underestimate kamui warping speed, It can be easily said for anyone, the problem is none is fast enough to strike him while getting warped. Even minato, the fastest man in the series needed teleportation to avoid it. Madara has none of it.
