Its a excuse that people use when there favorite charater loses ( cough itachi cough nagato) main charaters are supposed to win there fights to inspaire idealist to believe in there delusional dreams.

Plot no jutsu is real. If the main character dies show is over. So no matter what happens naruto won't die. That's plot. And that applies to the main characters in most shows
