No that's you assuming each ability is even matched in power which ends up in a deadlock

They were rivals and equally skilled not evenly matched justu for justu and again you fail to realize the properties of mokuton which was a great asset when binding or capturing tailed beast which madara was using !!

Also your failure to indstand basic science of flames engulfing wood especially one in a manga where the wood can be replaced rapidly since it has life giving properties.

Wood doesn't turn instantly to ash when Heat Touches it.

Set rules and dynamics of a story is what keeps the order of a story. If people wrote stories like you want them to, no one would buy books or Manga anymore.
