This page doesn't confirm that she wasn't alright for a while after she ate the fruit. I think we're meant to assume her change in behavior was gradual, and that initially she was benevolent with her power.

She probably gained her Rinnegan / horns after eating the fruit.

Maybe she was blind, and actually ate the fruit to cure her sight, and by using chakra in her eyes she could see again, and that made the Byakugan (Probably not this though.)

We don't know her original planet , family , people , ..... etc .

We don't know if her ( original planet , family , people , ..... etc . ) had Chakra or not ... because the existence of Chakra

Doesn't necessarily to be only on planet Earth .... so they might had Chakra too .


So , she might had Chakra and byakugan even before eating that fruit .
