when sasuke fights naruto at valley of end, sasuke says that its quite a coincidence where theyre fighting. so he must have known who hashi and madara were.

then when kyuubi tells sasuke that his chakra is very similar to uchiha madaras sasuke says hes never heard of uchiha madara.

if sasuke understands the significance of the valley of the end, i feel like he should have at least have heard of madara. not to mention that madara is a pretty big deal in the uchiha clan

However, I feel that Sasuke told the Kyuubi that he didn't know of Madara as some sort of bluff; perhaps Sasuke doubted Madara's powers, and felt that he was even stronger than him?
Sasuke does seem like the type who wouldn't acknowledge anyone weaker than him.

He just knows that the place is called ''Valley of the End'', he didn't say anything about Madara nor Hashirama. Not a plot hole.

referring to when Kurama brings up madara.

Sasuke still doesn't know who madara is. Sasuke just infers that he should be dead because he founded konoha
