Kenjutsu is an art used by many shinobi, The weapon is a sword. It has been shown in the manga that both shinobi and samurai use kenjutsu, but in very similar fashion. Kenjutsu if used correctly can be a great tool to use especially for close range battle. Most people tend to use kenjutsu in combination with other elemental ninjutsu or Taijutsu. Many ways that this is portrayed is how the samurai channel there chakra towards the swords to increase its sharpness and power.Sasuke Uchia channels his Nagashi towards his sword so when he stabs an opponent they can also be paralyzed in the area there wounded.
What I notice which is funny especially with most shinobi is that most of there swords well you can't really call then normal swords, but they all are under the same category of kenjutsu. The most well known in kenjutsu is the ninja world are the seven swordsmen of the mist. Though I can hardly call most of them swords, I mean the executioner blade is more for cutting up a large cow, Its not a sword I would use mainly due to its heavy size it can slow down a man.

Now we'll move onto the techniques.
(Rensei Shinkuken) – Drilling Crimson Blade
For this next technique, I want you to focus chakra into your blade before dashing towards the opponent and dealing an upward slash to their chest region, using the force behind the slash to send them into the air. After doing so, "appear" above and behind them, using your blade to deal a deadly drilling-type slash into their back, impaling and knocking them back towards the ground.

I run towards the opponent, I keep my sword in my left hand and flank backwards. While I get in close to the opponent I channel chakra towards the sword. Right when I get into touching distance I slash the opponent in the chest area by performing a upward slash. He is sent in the air and cut. I then jump high with speed and appear from behind the opponent. I wield the sword with a tight grip and I slash the sword downward right down the middle of the opponents back, cutting him and sending him back down.

(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Unlike the previous techniques, these two will be focused around manifesting a lumnious coating of raw chakra over your sword to either fire off as a projectile or augment your sword slashes. Now, tighten your grip over the hilt of your sword and begin focusing your chakra into it, before slashing the air in a crescent-like shape to release the built chakra as a red wave of pure chakra in my direction.
Key Points: This behaves as normal chakra and so can be defended against with elemental chakra.
(Chakura Bōsekiken) - Chakra Spinning Blade
Similar to the previous technique, I want you to focus your chakra into your sword, this time causing it to glow blue instead of a luminous scarlet. After stabilizing the coating of chakra, jump into the air and begin spinning at a rapid rate in a circular motion, whilst outstretching your sword to maximize its radial reach. Slash me as many times as possible in the interval of 10 seconds. This will depend on the speed of your spinning, the faster you spin, the more potential hits you can get in with your sword.

Listening to Kakazu's orders. I tighten the grip of the swords hilt and concentrate my raw chakra on the blade of my sword. I take aim and condense the pure chakra . I swing the sword with a downward slash releasing the chakra into a red chakra crimson slice which runs fast and strikes that tree leaving a large cut.

Perfect. For these final two techniques, we will be dealing with electrical currents. One with allow you to imbue your sword with lightning chakra, the other will allow you to divert unfocused currents of electricity into the ground.
(Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Chidorigatana) - Grass Cutter Sword: One Thousand Birds Katana
For this first technique, I want you to grip the hilt of your sword tightly to prepare yourself for this jutsu. Lightning is wild and unpredictable element, which is why it must be used with great caution. Envision the nature of lightning, the sporadic nature of its movements, its ability to numb/paralyze on contact and the way it conducts along metals. Focus your raiton chakra into your blade, attempting to stabilize a steady current of lightning which produces the distinct sound of chirping birds. Instead of performing this jutsu on me, I'd like you to have a sword fight with my clone. When you feel the time is right, initiate this technique without any warning to cut through his steel blade, allowing you to land a fatal blow.
Key Points: This isn't considered an elemental technique, however it does have a elemental counterpart.
( Kenjutsu: Hirashin ) - Sword Technique: Lightning Rod
Noticing his blade being broken, as a last resort, my clone will release a unfocused current of electricity from his body, attempting to paralyze you with it so to stop your sword strike. In response to this, cease the flow of lightning to your blade and instead, point it towards the floor and stab the tip into the ground (to ensure conduction). Use your chakra to calmly divert the unfocused current of lightning through your body and straight into the ground, stopping any and all harm from coming to yourself.
Key Points: By far my most favourite/most used Kenjutsu techniques. I don't enter short range without my sword sheathed. Close combat is a dying art, so this jutsu is a useful tool for anyone who likes Taijutsu/Kenjutsu.

As instructed. I gather my raw chakra and channel it towards my blade. I maintain a tight grip and focus. I begin to picture the essence of lightning, its destructive piercing style which suits that of a powerful warrior. I manipulate the nature of the chakra into lightning. While it molds into lightning, I notice a lightning current run through the blade while at the same time hear a chirping noise of a bird and more and more birds with the sound getting loud with every moment. I take aim and keep calm. I dash towards the clone while holding the sword with my right hand flanking behind me. I get in close range and slash the clones steel blade with a upward slash. It bypasses the sword as well as about to strike the clone, but before it lands on him, I notice him focus his own lightning current through his body, I'm hit my the current. But hearing Kakazu's orders. I calmly stab my sword in the ground and relinquish the lightning chakra from my sword and use the metal of my sword to channel the chakra on my body down towards the sword off of me and inside the ground leaving me unharmed.
