Tobirama Senju teleports into the training grounds, with grace and awesomeness as always. Looking to his student, Tobirama grinned. "Ah, it's you. This will be interesting. Anyways, have you received any prior training before this?"

Nikodo simply runs towards his Sensei hugging him...This might have been awkward but still it was a nice thing to do before any training. Releasing him from the hug, he simply replied while smiling.

No this is my first time in training Kenjutsu.

Tobirama smirked. "Perfect... there's many different ways and usages of kenjutsu. Before we go further, I want you to tell me anything and everything about kenjutsu. Tell me how it's used, practiced, weaknesses and advantages, and anything you can think of. It's a vague way of fighting, so there's plenty of information around! We will proceed with more exercises before learning specific techniques afterwards!" Tobirama quickly runs to a local Naruto Training Market, buying a substantial amount of training dummies for the training.

As Nikodo release the hug, it seemed like Tobirama didn't even mind anything like that. He was glad. Once Sensei asked him to give an explanation about Kenjutsu, he snapped his fingers and he was ready to give the explanation about Kenjutsu in general!!!

So Kenjutsu or literally meaning Sword technique is just as the name suggested the way of battling while relying on the usage of a weapon, mostly the sword being used. Unlike the other 2 ninja arts like Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, Kenjutsu is early similar to Taijutsu since both of them don't rely on the usages of chakra for the basic attacks, but rather rely on the physical strength, usability and stamina of the user. This is why the Samurai from the land of Iron use mostly Kenjutsu for their way of battle, in a way or another they gave up in the usage of chakra, but they rely on using the sword rather. Kenjutsu also has that thing about it, where you could technically use elemental chakra and cloak your blade with it, making it ridiculously sharp and able to cut through more things in general.

Best usages for Kenjutsu are of course, quick killing without the usage of chakra whatsoever, you can practice it mostly close ranged and it really works only in close range, but once that is done you will be sure to have left some slices of your enemy into the ground. Very good usages for Kenjutsu might even be good counters for low ranges Taijutsu, so you can counter the fist with a cold sharp blade instead of your face.

Basic advantages to Kenjutsu are quick killing, being able to handle close weapon combat well and win against it, a way might be dodging or blocking projectile weapons thrown at you and even other ones might be assassination and very good counter for close ranged Taijutsu.

While the biggest weakness of Kenjutsu is basically weak to everything which is outside the range of your blade. When you can use skills which simulate the powers of a fire strom, or a flood and the powers of a lightning storm...A small sword won't help you out of it. So the basic weakness to Kenjutsu is Ranged Ninjutsu, or basically everything outside the close reach of the sword which is 1m 42cm!!!

"Good explanation." Tobirama lead the student into the village. They made their way to a weaponry shop (if they even exist?) and sneaked in the back of the room, where storage is mostly kept. "Alright your first task, I want you to find a sword that fits you. It should be comfortable to bear and not be too heavy, or light- just perfect. There's plenty of swords to choose from so I'm fairly confident you'll find one you like. Longswords, Katana's, Wakizashi's, etc. Each one is used differently, hence why I want you to find one that is perfect for you. I'll meet you at the training grounds. Take your time." Tobirama poofs away shortly after the explanation.

After getting sneakingly inside the weapon shop, Nikodo just thought that maybe his sensei had no weapons or money with him. Well this was not what you are supposed to learn but since he needed teaching, they had no choice, Tobirama called Nikodo close, so even him crawled slowly towards him, listening to what he had to say. But then at that moment he had dispersed telling him to meet at the training field. Now Nikodo was all alone as his face was showing no emotion at all...just his lips were showing, and eyes were wide open full in surprise.

Well, I guess I will have to look through each of there weapons...

Chokutō - which is a straight blade, sharpened and made into different harnesses, not a bad one.

Tsurugi/Ken - This unlike the first one is straight but it has 2 cutting edges it might be very usaful not to tilt the blade over and over again, but I think it would even be negative if you need to use your hand to touch the blade and push the enemy back at some time. Plus the enemy might use that other edge to your disadvantage.

Tachi - Would be good choice as well, unlike the real Katana this one is a little big larger and it can come in different harnesses. It might be positive for bigger reach but even negative when you have to carry the weapon on your hilt, it might even get stuck somewhere and sometimes cost your head so...I will think about this one.

Kodachi - This one is like a shorter Tachi, but it isn't a Katana fully since it is more curved, maybe you can slice faster with this, but putting it in the hilt will be a little harder.

Ōdachi - This is is a larger Tachi so it is a total no for me, I sometimes think that even the Tachi won't be able to do, another bigger one will simply be impractical. Still...I might look like Sephiroth so this is a positive point there.

Katana - This one might be the choice I will go with. It is an amazing piece of weapon, the length is perfect and the curve and edge is insane as well. It is maybe the most ergonomic and aerodynamic, so it will have less resistance and will be faster then the other ones. The very light weight makes it an excellent choice as well.

Wakizashi - Many Samurai use this weapon across the Katana, it is some kind of short sword you could use in resonance with it, or use it after the Katana is broken, shattered, or even lost.

Nagamaki - A straight blade very similar to the Katana, considered the forefather of the Katana as well, I will consider this as well, it is basically a straight Katana!!!

Naginata - A perfect weapon for a real Ninja, if you think about it. It is a shorter version of the Katana, it can be hidden, it is even faster, just different from the Wakuzashi since it is straight...hmmm...

Yari - A spear, which can be used to make attacks in a wider range then ever. But I would rather use a staff than a spear.

Tantō - My basic butter knife, I could get this at home!!!

Then Nikodo thought about it for a second, till the door of the weapon storage opened, beign scared that he could be caught he simply took the Katana and made one handseal, disappearing from wheer he was appearing in the training field with the Katana being held by his left hand. Nikodo put the sheathe of the blade in the left side of his waist ready for thr training!!!

Tobirama looked with disgust, and commented, "A simple katana? You're boring... Eh, whatever it's too late to go back now, the store is closed..." From his ninja pouch, he takes out three papers. Each one had a word, and he handed them to the student. "Intelligence, Speed/Power, and Reflexes... these are the three things essential for Kenjutsu, or what I believe to be essential in order to become a prominent Swordsman. We'll go through each one one at a time, then we'll move on to the techniques. Now, first question. Why do you think it is important to be somewhat intelligent in a sword battle?" He waits patiently for the student's reply.

After hearing that Tobirama didn't like his choice of weapon, Nikodo simply tucked his left close to his body and kneel down. His hands wrapped around his legs, as he began feeling depressed. Why would his sensei say that? It was the first meeting and the white haired shinobi was being so mean already. Nikodo just excused with a low voice, as his lips were stuttering...While Tobirama couldn't really say anything more. He just continued the explanation after about 10 seconds of awkward silence....

After Nikodo heard the question the new sensei had to ask, he asked him precisely about the usage of intelligence in battle. This made the Uzumaki get up, and think about it. As he was calm he simply stood there in silence, looking down low into the ground, simply thinking of the best reply he could give at the current moment. As the answer was finally obvious to him, he began giving his insight on that matter.

Intelligence is one of the most important aspects not only in Sword battle, or sword arts, but even in any aspect of the Ninja battles in general. Being able to use the daily knowledge, logical points and the way the enemy is fighting against you, is amazing not only for battle, but even in daily talking. Using your words carefully you can deduce a lot from the enemy. Btu replying just in sword battle, intelligence is a key feature to winning a match. Take for example all of the weapons, if you can summon them in the battlefield using a scroll, you need to be careful who to use. Each weapon has it's own advantages and disadvantages. So if used carefully, you could be triumphal in every and each battle. Then comes countering attacks, if you focus on grabbing the blade or stopping the blade at the tip, it will be a bad idea, most of the force it pressured there and it is even the fastest place of the sword. While if you focus close to the hilt, there the blade will move not half as fact, it will travel a shorter distance, and it has about no force focused in there, so stop a blade there, and it is your win. Another good aspect to cover, is the way how you attack, think carefully which body part to target to get a certain something out from your enemy. For example, if you want to restrict movements, you target the legs, if you want him to lose balance, target the upper part, if he ducks back, for a certain second, he will be off balance. If you want to push him back, target the center part of the body, so when he dodges you can push him back with sheer force. If you think about it, everything relies in intelligence, even swinging your blade, takes some thoughts behind it. So intelligence is one of the basic, when not the most basic part of learning how to battle.

Tobirama looked at the student as he explained, noticing that he was a bit... sad. He paid no attention to it and elaborated more on what the student said. "Just about right. Aiming at blind spots is part of intelligence- you would need to know the proper timing to time an attack and predict where the enemy will hit, in order to defend accordingly. You need to take everything into consideration in the heat of the battle, which is pretty difficult. Attacking efficiently is the key, and knowing how to attack efficiently usually takes knowledge because you would need to know where the enemy is about to strike, and you'd need to quickly plot a counter attack that will effectively defend, and attack right after. For example, if the enemies blade clashes with yours, you would slide your sword to the bottom, allowing the force the enemy exerted into the blade to be pushed into the air, since you're no longer giving it a proper foundation to support the weight. Once you take out that foundation, which was your sword, they would naturally be pushed forwards from their current momentum, which would allow you to access all sorts of combinations and follow ups. Basically, knowledge allows you to know when, how, and with how much power to attack or to defend with."
Tobirama waited a second allowing the student to absorb all the information, and then, continued, "Alright, speed and power. What is the importance of both?"

Tobirama gave an amazing insight about how to use intelligence as well, which seemed to be that he knew a lot about Kenjutsu as well, it seems like this trainign will be especially fun. So after he asked the next question, Nikodo simply put his right hand to his chin, thinking about explaining everything as professionally as possible, so it took quite a while for him to give this reply. While thinking, smoke started coming from his ears, which was pretty weird but he didn't even pay attention to that, he was thinking way to hard to actually do.

Alright, so strength and speed. Strength and speed are 2 features which need to coexist in order for you to become good not only in Kenjutsu, but even in the art of Taijutsu, since it is basically the only training which can increase both of those stats till there is virtually no limit. Strength is amazingly important in many cases, many times you will be fighting opponents with more body mass, or opponent more trained that you in general. And in battle, it is not the sharpness or sturdiness of the blade which will save your life at those times, but it is the strength of the arm and body. If you don't have enough strength, than the opponent will simply hit you, and even if you reacted and blocked it with your own blade, he would be driving your own blade inside your body, which could break your arm, or be very, very lethal. So before you have the strength it is better to avoid enemies with large muscle masses. Now we come to the second one, which is the counterpart of strength, and it is speed. Speed is virtually as important as strength but honestly, who is better depends full on opinion. Speed is virtually irreplaceable, since you will need to have every fast reaction times, and over that, you need to have very fast footwork, which will help you move fast and first avoid simply attacks by simply moving around them, and yet again you can attack the opponent without having them react in time, so they will basically stand there and wait for their death, as simple as that. Now there always should be a balance between the 2 because. With the increase of strength, your body mass will increase and your speed will be vastly limited, large body masses can't really move fast, and speed is the same story, if you are focused on speed, you need to be small and swiftly, which could limit your strength. But still, you could always use the momentum of the movement, in exchange for strength. So if you ask me, speed is more important of the 2, but in a perfect world, you will be training your body till the absolute limit, which can be perfectly done with weights, not only will they make your upper body stronger, but the implementation for Leg weights will even make your body a lot faster, being not only useful in Taijutsu but even in Kenjutsu

Tobirama actually smiled. "Heh, that was near to perfection. I'd like to point out one thing. Speed and Power are both, obviously, ways to obtain power. If you lack power, but have speed, then the speed and momentum gained by swinging your sword around ferociously will compensate for that lack of power. Likewise, if you lack speed, but is well built and generally powerful, then your physical strength will compensate for the lack of speed. However, if you have both, each one of your attacks will be much more powerful, because speed and power would be working together. Nice job, Nikodo. Now, what can you tell me about reflexes?"

Hearing that his Sensei liked his answer, Nikodo couldn't help but smile and feel proud!!! Being praised by one of the strongest shinobi out there, was quite a feat and as he asked for the next question. It made the Uzumaki think about it once again. He would be now talking about reaction times, which are virtually as important as the 2 above, but the link of this one, was with a topic he already covered and that would of course be speed. So having thought of the best explanation he just gave his insights about everything.

So yeah, Reflexes. If you take the most scientific explanation about reflexes you will be able to say that they are close to instantaneous movements which happen to be situated in some of the major muscles of the human being. They will be able to react almost directly after the nerve has been stimulated without needed to send all the information in the brain. They happen to exist to protect the human body from harm, because if we burn our hand, or if we puncture it with a needle we pull it back, without too much thinking about it. So in the first scientific explanation, it is an instantaneous move, which involves moving your body at second in order to avoid harm. But I don't think this is the one we are talking about currently, the reflexes we are talking about might be the reaction times what we have between actions, so the speed in which we are able to counter-react to something which we will be able to precept with any of our senses. So you can clearly understand why it is so important for battle. It is because sometimes hits will be very fast, and aimed towards the weakest and unprotected parts of the body, aiming for a quick kill. With reflexes which are most advances, you would naturally pull your hand with the blade and block it without thinking to much about it. It is a way to make instantaneous attacks and dodges which will be crucial in battle at most times. And you can even clearly see what speed has to do here. Because you might have amazing reflexes able to perceive anything which moves, but if you can't pull for example, your head, at the right timing or speed, you will simply die. Just being able to react fast isn't the only thing. You need to first be able to look and feel everything through training, then work on speed to be able to dodge it. It is crucial for proper Kenjutsu training.

"Oh my god! Another awesome reply. Especially in taijutsu and kenjutsu, or any close combat based fighting, reflexes are important because it allows one to formulate a counter attack just as quickly as they react. Now, let's begin with the actual training. Take out your sword- this training will be simple. I ask you to perform it to the multitude of training dummies situated throughout the training grounds, while I perform it myself after, and you will freeformly defend from the same technique."

Nico Robin points at the closest training dummy around, indirectly telling the student that that was the training dummy he was to practice on. "For the first technique- it is a great combination attack requiring speed and accuracy. Use your katana and slash the training dummy in quick succession. Of course, because you are trying to attack as quickly as possible, it will lack power which is alright. You can attack through vertical, horizontal, any angled-slashes you wish. Once you have done so, I want you to focus all your power and speed in one final slash across the training dummy, which should deal moderate damage to a normal human or shinobi. The final slash is what deals a large portion of the actual damage of the technique, the preliminary slashes are primarily used to set up the final slash and to catch the enemy off guard form the quick slashes. Now, you may begin your performance." Tobirama takes out his own sword, readying himself to attack the student with the same technique after he was done.

Being right in the battlefield, I saw that Tobirama-Sensei turned into a very beautiful black haired woman, which was not confusing but pretty much impossible in the first place. But then the very beautiful new teacher right in the end of the explanation turned into Tobirama once again. Which made Nikodo lose it and pass out. Being lying there, Tobirama was annoyed by that fact and other than using a small amount of water to make Nikodo wake up, he grew a gigantic water dragon and mashed him into the ground several feet below. Having him stand right there, Nikodo slowly climbed up the saying in a sunny tone but a sad kind of underlip.

Just a bucket would have been enough as well -__-...

As this imaginary situation ended, the sharp Katana was situated in Nikodo's right hand, while the dummy was right before him. Getting into the battle position he tightened the grip of the blade, while his eyes narrow, and a small breeze of wind flies through his hair and the training field. As in one second, he dashed towards the dummy as he brought the blade up, towards hair right side, showing the hilt of the blade before him, as the sword blade was really in the left of his left arm. As he was close enough to the dummy, with the quick movement, and the position he was originally in, he made a horizontal cut from left to right, not quitting it there, he simply turned the wrist around, making a diagonal cut, from right up to left down, turning his wrist down once again, he followed it up with a straight line from up down, while moving both hands up, as in the final clash, he grabbed his sword with both hands, making a diagonal cut from up left to right down with both hands creating a far greater cut in the dummy.

As he performed the jutsu on the clone, and turning towards his sensei, he waited till his teacher would run towards him. As everything was calm and quite, in a blink of an eye, Tobirama started running towards him, with a sword just like Nikodo had it aiming for his right cut in the right side, simply pulling the blade up, Nikodo blocks that move as it creates a small spark when the 2 blades connected, witht he blade being on the lft side now, Tobirama aimed for a diagonal cut in the shoulder, but simply moving his wrist, and watching at the tip of the blade Nikodo caught it, pushing Tobirama back. As the final clash of Tobirama follow diagonal from right up to left down, Nikodo simply extended his blade catching his sensei's. not pushing him back this time around, he slid his blade over to the guard and hit own body very close, with the locked in place, just a small movement of the wrist from normal position to the right, he pulled his cutting edge away from his teachers face and the black away from any reach, ahd with the guard, and end of the hilt from the blade, he pointed it to his teachers throat, indicating that he could have broken an enemies adams apple with this attack.

"Magnificent." Tobirama commented. This time, he was Tobirama, not that woman. "I'm sorry... but I occasionally have a tendency to turn into someone else, it's odd." He apologized. "You did amazing. Let's continue! The next technique is a combination of Taijutsu and Close combat kenjutsu. This can be done through normal chakra blades, a smaller blade like daggers, or an actual sword. Deliver a barrage of punches towards the target - the area you hit is important because that weakens them further. For example, if you punch the throat/neck area hard enough, they'll struggle to breath while giving you enough time to execute the other half of the technique. So, you basically punch the enemy a few times in specific areas, once you're done, follow up swiftly with two diagonal slashes that resembles the shape of an "X". Understand?" Tobirama pointed at ze training dummy that looked like... Adacheese and Souji. "Perform it on one of them, and then, defend against the same technique once my clone performs it towards you!" Tobirama performed a handseal and made a clone.

Having explained the issue that Tobirama had for turning into a woman from time to time, it just made Nikodo think this might not just be a curse, but sometimes even a blessing, Tobirama would be able to easily get everything in the stores, or get his Armour and weapons first, this was something insane. Still, after Tobirama gave his insights about the jutsu, The Uzumaki sheathed his blade back in while he turned towards the dummy.

Being just meters away from it, he took position as he lowered himself as his hands started lifting from the normal position to right above him, with the left hand further away from his face than the right hand. Both hands were up with the fingers bent inwards the pal, but not yet a full condensed fist, it was more flexible. As it was time to perform the jutsu, he pushed himself forward, towards the dummy the hard wood, wouldn't be able to break so easily, as well as the lack of motion wouldn't make the performance of the jutsu hard either. So in a split second, he dashed towards the dummy, with his hand now condensed to fists as the first one was aiming to the abdomen, the other one followed aimed towards the center of the body, following up with another right swing, he targeted the throat and then the shoulder region. As it was time now, he grasped with his left hand the katana in his waist, holding it upside down, and lifting the blade up quickly, he performed a diagonal cut, from left down to right up, while in the right up position, he released the blade, with the hilt facing down, which was then immediately grasped by the right hand in the waist region making another cut diagonally from right down, to left up. Which left a cut inside the wood, an X form clash.

Having performed the skill, he waited for the clone to finally attack him back. His position was calm and focused looking at the clones movements. Just as him before, the clone started dashing towards Nikodo with the attempt yo weaken him with the punches. Having a close look at all the hand movements, the clone went for a straight punch with the left hand, so as the punch was traveling, Nikodo caught the punch with the right hand, moved it into hos right, as he ducked down, Kicking the clones legs, causing him to lose balance. The he twisted the arm of the clone putting it right behind the back and slamming the clone into the ground. Seeing how he couldn't move, and as his left hand was free, he simply took the blade and stabbed him in the heart area which caused the clone to disperse. The key was to neutralize the enemy without allowing him to even grab for the blade.

"Such perfection. Keep up the great work! Let's continue with the next technique." Tobirama explained as he threw a tanto to the student. "Alright, using this short-bladed weapon, I want you to spin around while extending it outwards with your arm, thus slicing/slashing the enemy multiple times through your spinning motion. You do this by spinning with your dominant foot, and each spin would strike the enemy once." Tobirama places several training dummies around you, acting as a circular wall to keep you in. "Perform it in place to get use to the spinning motion so you don't fall over if you actually use it in battle. If done correctly and with enough force, you should be able to slice through all the training dummies horizontally. Give me the disadvantages of this technique after, and defend from the same attack that my clone will attack you with." Tobirama's clone waits for your performance - only after does he approach, spinning with a tanto in an attempt to slash through your head.

Catching the Tanto that Sensei through, Nikodo slowly listened to what his sensei had to explain. As he understood everything what his Sensei had to say he got into the normal attack stance as he faced all the dummies, which were all around him, blocking his movements. This was quite a realistic performance of this jutsu as you could be cornered like this in battle as well, from all sides. Nikodo lowered himself, as he held the Tanto, on the hilt, while the cutting side and edge were below and not up. He lifted his arm up, keeping the horizontal position as he was holding the blade close to his eyes, showing nothing but insane focus. As it was time,he stepped right before him with his right leg, but the difference was that the right leg was a lot in the left. Once he was stable, he pulled his entire body to the new location while he was giving his body a rotating motion. The dummy in the left, was hit first as the Tanto dug deep into the wood, while he was cutting through it, aiming for the second dummy, As the motion of rotation ended, he started now to pull the left leg which was left behind along with it, continuing the motion as fluid as possible cutting through the second and third dummy. The Tanto continued cutting through it, as the body was rotating and as it reached the 4th dummy and the 5th one, he simply pushed his right leg back up into the started position dragging the left one along with it, as he ended up into the started position looking at all of the 5 dummies as they were all with deep wounds into their chest, about 15 cm deep. It was enough to hit any organ located in the chest area, indicating a direct kill.

As the dummies fell, Nikodo threw the Tanto away, as he grabbed the hilt of the blade, looking at Tobirama's clone. His face had a small smile as he was waiting for any movement The clone had to make. In one blink of an eye the clone ran and appeared before him very fast. As the clone stepped forward with his right hand, just as Nikodo did before, the perfect idea was basically moving with his left leg, being right next to Tobirama's leg. The right wast of Nikodo was very close to the one of Tobirama. As Tobi was spinning, so was Nikodo, with his right arm, with the blade of the Katana travelling along with it. Tobirama's arm was able to hit Nikodo's back bu the hand was very far from actually hitting anything. while the movement of spinning was stopped by the body of the Uzumaki. Nikodo was too close to the clone and the arm was too long to hit a vital spot. The clone was pretty much stuck, while Nikodo had a full opening in his back where he simply hit the clone with his blade into the middle of the body, cutting his deep creating a wound, which was deep enough for the clone to disperse.

So you asked me for a disadvantage so I will try and give you the best answer I can. And I actually think that by looking at this performance we find one here as well. You can clearly see that if you situate yourself in the back of the enemy, you will be able to stop the rotating movement, and the full extended hand, you can never be able to hit the enemy. So if you can move fast enough, and situate yourself behind him you would be safe. This would be a disadvantage for you in case you fight someone faster. And another one is that if you could have your arm cut, if the enemy can trace the movements of it, and aim for the long extended, unprotected arm.

"Perfect. The biggest disadvantage I see from that technique is because of its dizziness you may experience afterwards. Like, spinning around with a tanto - that can make you feel dizzy, which the enemy could use as an advantage for his or her next attack. Also, you aren't facing the enemy the entire time since you would be moving at an entire 360 degree angle, therefore it is dangerous because you are unaware of whether or not the enemy moves in the small time between you turning away and turning back. That was a great reply, keep it up."

Tobirama handed the student with his usual, and very boring katana. "Here. The katana you chose way back then." Through several hand seals, he raises the ground and angles it downwards, creating a slight hill with you above, and a training dummy places a meter lower and three meters from the student. "Point the blade vertically downwards, and simply kick off with one of your leg to jump and drill the blade to your target. This should be enough to even pierce through the skull, if you used the right weapon and enough force. It is a fatal technique but actually performing it successfully is rather difficult. Now, perform it to my clone. My clone will do the same, and I'd like you to defend accordingly. What do you think about this technique? More specifically, what are its risks?"
