I've actually started with episode 1 three times, and I've never made it past the opener. Hahaha. It's just so campy. I can't stand oldschool anime.

I can only tolerate it because of nostalgia. Otherwise I think I would probably hate it. Even so, I hate Dragonball, and DBZ is only cool because it's just huge dudes beating the shit out of each other.

2011. Trust me. Better at everything compared to 1999. 1999 also includes some fillers, to elongate the anime. It stopped because they caught up to the manga.

Great anime. You wont regret it.

Watch them both. The 99 version had better character designs imo. The OVA's that follow the 99 version up til Greed Island ends were really good also.
