the original naruto...i remember....kakashi was so cool....orochimaru was akin to the devil himself.....jirayia was like god....naruto, sasuke, lee, shikimaru....all develiping steadily yet surely.......what the hell happened in shippuden???!! We got ten new akatsuki guys out of nowhere...is it just me or could they easily have been replaced with a different ten members and kishi would have still made sense of it? Pain and minato and itachi...all badasses...but all emos if u ask me, kike deidara and sasori...orochimaru made to look so weak, although his days of villainy remain unmatched....kakashi everyones favorite character tossed aside...at least jirayia didnt live long enough to be so direspected!...neiji, lee, kiba, shikamaru, tsunade...where are you guys??? Missed u all. Sakura is the least likeable character in any series also....sorry to sound like its a rant here. Would like to here if anyone feels the same, and if anyone has a reason for why kishi has done this...thankyou

I apologise i did not mean minato i actually meant madara was just typing fast...yeah i know....he wears a mask, but the way he originally looks is just wierd. Minato definatley a cool character and one of my favs sorry folks. Regarfing if this is indeed 'progress' perhaps ur right. However i see it as a major lack of continuity...what was the point of hyping up kakashi, orochimaru, narutos fellow academy students...what was the point...? I highly enjoyed itachis story in shippuden...while i never got madaras motive...he aint pure evil ya know? Somethings fishy. Peace

its cause its easier to write a zig-zag power up story than an actual storyline. all the new ppl makes the 3rd hokage, the sanins, the jonins and the legendary ppl like kakashi and sabuza seem like they were weaklings.

i see. Maybe its too much to expect in the first place the same care and attention displayed in the first part to stretch to the entirety of the shows life. Is there any manga that manges this ? for me i always defend anime and compare series like naruto to epics like lord of the ings...but i cant actually justify that with the storytelling seen lately. Oh well...

The reason all the other characters were hyped up in pt1 is simply because they only seemed strong at the time to show narutos progress when he surpasses them

I don't get what you're saying. Stories change as they go on, do you expect the story to stay in the same state forever? It would get boring and stale. And how is Kakashi forgotten? He's been in way more fight in part II. Sounds to me like you got a sever case of nostalgia goggles.
