To be fair you're acting like the two are mutually exclusive, Kuma was a pirate and a rev. Granted this has nothing to do with the Sabo discussion but just wanted to throw that out there that a member of the revs could (theoretically but not really) still become PK.

Wasn't he? Maybe not now that I think about it. For some reason when I wrote that I was thinking Shichibukai were always pirates but now I'm not sure.

If Sanji's defining moment was to bake a cake for Big Mom that is pretty cool actually, since he is a chef first. He was able to whip up a copy of the wedding cake in a couple of hours without the proper preparation and while on the move, even beating Streussen's flavor and satisfying Big Mom. That is cementing his cooking abilities among the best in the world. His dream is not to be the strongest in something he wants to experience all kinds of food and preparations, make people happy with cooking, deal with his family and get home to his "real family" protect women and find all blue. He made progress towards all goals this arc, so not a bad year for Sanji.
