Ok so, sorry for my late-ish reply however I had some stuff on my plate that I had to get rid off firstly. Before making this last submission thread for Photography of the Month I was thinking between two themes, either In My Place (One of the Coldplay's song, and for it to be mostly based on how you combine nb with where you live, it is pretty broad and you can take a picture of whatever you wish, a park, a pool, even in your house and etc.) and the other one was Landscapes. In the end I decided to go with Landscapes, albeit I see now that that was a mistake because of so many people uninteresting in the theme. So for that I appologize. However if you guys wish, we can change a little bit this last months theme because I wouldn't really like for only two people submitting a picture and then going forth on the voting from there. Also make it something terrain based, however not landscapes?

Now when it comes to abhiken's ideas. For that I thank you. It would be best to simplify it a little bit when it comes to themes as for more and more people to take part. This would increase both the number of people voting as well as people taking part. So, please do tell me your opinions?

by the way i just observed that 2-3 entries have already been submitted in this month's competition. i failed to see any 'narutobase signature' in both of them.
so, assuming that as overall zero entries ,
i think putting photM#11 "on hold" (officially) for now is a good idea.
2-3 days might be enough. lets say until this Sunday.

i am saying this because someone's efforts might go to waste if we decide to abandon this theme .

and yes, i request every other member who is going through this thread to give your opinion on this matter.

A new theme would be nice for me since I´m at college and I don´t have time to travel around to find a landscape (as I take forever to get the picture the way I like >_< And the city is currently being repaired so a lot of contruction stuff)

I pretty much agree with abhiken's post. Since there's no valid entries so far, we should close the thread and update it with a new theme in a few days.
As for the themes, apart from the things I noted on my earlier post, I think we should continue with simple and wide themes and by wide I mean themes that can inspire members to do many different things, themes that will generate many ideas and concepts (black and white is such an example, many entries-all with different concept).
Also, it would be nice if the members that follow this contest would leave their comments and suggestion for themes. That way, it would be easier to come up with interesting themes.

My suggestions for this month:

Night
Food
Candies/sweets
Buildings
Retro style
Vintage style
Colors

It is ''funny'' <_<'' that now when we mentioned closing of the submission thread people started applying as to take part. However if you are still up to closing of the current theme, I don't really mind doing it as I'd really like for more people to take part and make a theme that'd fit everyone's taste.

I hope not,because I really had to trouble myself so I could get that photo for the contest.


Edit: And I think it would be pretty unfair and selfish to abort this theme just because you are not able to submit anything at the moment. I had to trouble myself and my friend to drive for 2 hours, so I could get a picture for an forum contest. I will not allow my effort to go in vain.

Wait for the next month's contest.

Have you read the rules for the contest?

The contestants must enter each month with photos, taken by them, which will have to relate to a given generic theme and also have some "NB Proof"; something visible in the photo, made by the user, that makes it clear the photo is related to NB.

And you are saying that you took this photo only for this contest?

I read the rules. But there was no way I could incorporate a NB sign with the scenery.

Dude, that photo is one of the first results when you hit "lake Skadar" in Google. It also features in most traveling/accommodations sites related to Montenegro. I would link them here, but they are too many, so I will just give a screenshot of the picture search results.

It's done manually by the staff members. I am pretty sure admins and gmods can freely update them but I am not sure if all mods (or any mod at all) can do it.
