Alright, I didn't say this for you to be called offended. But the way how i view it, how Hells views it, how many people view it in my stand point. It is simple. You didn't lose, time, money, energy to make it, yet it looks amazing. I call effort what Thor did, take dices, glue them, wait an hour, throw them various times ect. This take time and effort so it isn't simple, it is a payed off hard work. So please don't feel offended by it. I am meaning you did a good job into making something easy to do, and repeatable into something actually good looking. Hard work is it when you work for various days, not something you get done in minutes, and then you later eat.

Btw who gave you the right to say it had no effort? You talking big in this thread is getting annoying af.
This contest is about the idea and thow nice the photo itself is and doesn't matter if it had more effort or not.

You have no right to put someones work over another. You have your opinion and others have theirs and if they like it, they vote for it, it's that simple.

The right to tell that it has no effort was given me by the mighty Versuvio, since he created this forum and I was able to display my opinion. In my behalf, carving letters in Oreos, doesn't take time, just as Thor or abhiken did. I even said, that I liked the idea a lot. And the opinion was given with pure objectivity, and not putting anyone down or up in any way possible. And as for talking big...

Do you really think I came here to act bossy or that I know more then anyone just cause I have an opinion? And the way how many responded, many did agree with me, so bossy acting is nowhere visible.

I'm offended, by you and early by Six Pāths. I'm only asking a mere question, but it seems like both of you take my photo too lightly and "simple" as SP said. I put time and effort in all. Craving letters on Oreos isn't as easy as it sounds. Unless you've done that before, than yes.. Call it simple!

All I had to say I posted it on this thread, And it was pure objectivity. Nothing personal to anyone, didn't offend anyone, and to my standpoint that's how it is. I will excuse for any kind of misinterpretations though, and tell everyone that this is the way how I feel for the pics. Your submission might have had feel and hard work, it just didn't really seem like that to me, taking it just as an example.

Anyway, good entries this month!
I really like abhiken's pic, a little more light/shadow to tone up the ripples would have made it awesome but it's great like that too.

Janin, you badass gal bringing smoking into a "family" site XD I really like the idea and the photo is clear with strong colors which great for a black and white pic.

Hell's and Eden's are very nice too. I always appreciate the outdoor pics more cause it's hard to adjust the surroundings to your like so the whole thing takes more effort.

And then along came Thor. A really nice concept and well executed that of course caught my eye. Which is not a good thing after all.

I couldn't help but notice how the dices looks so strong and pop out from the picture so much, as if they don't belong there. I am not much of a photo expert but I do know my way around Photoshop, so that odd result made me wonder so I run an ELA (error level analysis) test to find out if my suspicions were correct. Since we have enough wallies on this thread, I will add a spoiler in which I will explain why I think Thor's pic is fake.

You must be registered for see images

ELA identifies areas within an image that are at different compression levels, so in a picture the ELA should be the same pretty much for all areas. If the ELA levels are different it indicates that the picture has been modified. The colored areas show the areas that a photoshop tool has been used.

Of course we all use PS to enhance our pictures, it's not a bad thing but adding to the image is another thing.
As Thor mentioned the hand area has a lot of color in the ELA due to the contrast being readjust to create a more visible effect. On the dices the colored areas show the sharpen tool being used, overused to be exact, something that's visible on the original image too, since that area has this pixelated black and white with a little color result.

So far so good, but the real problem is that the dices overall have a different ELA result than all the other areas even from the hand areas in which Thor said that he increased the contrast (the dices area is more white and has more "noice"). If you notice, even the hand's overall area has the same ELA outlook with the face but the dices have a whole different result indicating that they were part of another picture with different compression level and were added to, let's call it the background pic (face and hand), giving a different error level in the analysis.

Plus, even though Thor said that he focused the light on the dices you can't see the blur light effect that is created around of all objects that have light cast on them. That effect though, is visible to both hand and face. So this is another indicator that the dices were cropped from another pic, excluding the in-between area with the blur effect that is created by the object and the background and then added to the face and hand pic.
In conclusion, I think that the head-hand and the dices were two different pictures that were combined in one to create this result.

Editing the image with shitload of effects is easy to do and everyone can claim then to be a pro at taking photos. Trying to win this with using effect is not a photo for me. People that actually do photos without this shit (the entries you were talking to not be that good and had no effort) are way more of a photo and has more effort to the purpose of this contest than all the edited stuff.

in competition based on theme, there is no soft hand regarding theme, whether your pic is beyond awesomeness but if its not fulfilling the theme, its useless right ??

Ok wait wot? You're accusing me for not forcing you to prove that your image is real? If you want to prove anything you free to do it. As I am free to state my opinion on what I see and that's exactly what I did. It's not my part to force members to prove that they did respect the contest rules.
No, a little photography skills is not enough to distinguish if an image has been altered with photoshop.
If you see a problem with my entry no one is stopping you from mentioning it.
Again, it's my fυckin opinion so I don't see why Janin's or anyone else opinion has anything to do with this.

After checking with a friend of mine, -Yard- to be exact (thank you very much) we came to the conclusion that picture is real. The raw version of the picture is not photoshoped and thus his submission is completely valid.
