@sixpaths: you do know that it does not strictly have to be black and white :p
the reason why there greyish leaves is because its away from the light source (street light) where as the closer ones got over exposed. I didn't care that much of the tag because my main focus was the pathway and trees. I just needed it to prove I took the picture. also I was holding on the tag and I was using a slow shutter with a low aperture and low iso . I was playing around with the manual setting instead of depending on the high iso my camera has :/ maybe if I used the high iso, higher aperture and shutter speed, I would probable be able to take a better night pic
I understand, it couldn't have really gotten into focus in any way. Being with a lower aperture then usual, and ISO camera, is iffy, not like the real pro cameras. But, I am just saying, the theme black and white, gave many people the idea to go and take a dark alley, or a dark street corner, then simply set the pic into black and white, but the paper tag, just got...way to old. Please don't just use it, they overuse it. My idea was pretty different, I had wanted to do something, with the back of a model, with black and white paint, with NB written somewhere in one of her shoulders, while she looked back. The idea would be cool, but I needed a model for that >_>. So next month, I gotta try something environmental, and make it jaw breaking ;). Lets both own this contest!!!

well my idea of the alley was not because it was black and white. I had made a shooting and I really loved the effect in the alley not to mention it is an old street with a view over the city and the little cat there gave it some nostalgic feelings, so, I then returned there again to prove using NB :p I now understand better the NB tag concept :)

this was the original I took before making part of the contest though,

Since it's an alley much better use the sepia or the twilight effect since you took it in the afternoon I guess

Yes I know, I didn't have the time to prepare a better way to put NB in it and also because I went there again on a working day and I made that original one on a Saturday or Sunday! I understand that the idea now is to come up with a creative way to join photography and NB together and not just some proof or piece of paper!

Thor - Alright, now we get to honestly my favorite one in this submission. But this has high chances of being the best PhotM Pic which was ever taken. The dices, spelling Nb in mid air, the little heart, the blurred image of you, or whoever else behind there throwing it. This is a pic, that honestly, amazed me. After seeing your submission I felt like I wouldn't be able to compete, no matter what I idea I honestly had. I would love you to take part each month considering how good you are, and force the others to think outside of the box.
Thanks for liking the image bro,

she is my sister in the pic,

Setup Explain:
The room was pretty dark, I asked my sister to stand and stretch her full hand infront of her shoulders (little lower to shoulders actually)

camera settings:
used Nikor 50 mm 1.8
Aperture: 1.8
Shutter Speed: 1/250s
Iso: 1250

Set my external stand light keeping its magnitude low, set it like that light only falls on her hand and dices.

I ask her to lightly dodged dices that her hand comes straight to shoulders and I will try to take shot as soon as dices flip up.

Focusing part:
before dodging the dices I focused my camera on dices (locking the exposure by clicking half shutter button) and the ask my sis to dodge, since camera was already focused it took the shot as quickly as I press my shutter button.

it took 8 to 12 pics to get proper focused dices, proper hand and face position.

since my aperture was very wide, it helped me allot in blurring the face of my sis, as there was enough gap between dices and her face.
secondly light was not falling her face that also help in blurring.

but due to high ISO i lost the details of palm, all the details burn out.

in post processing I increased the contrast and I get that output :)

oh yes abut dices, i bought three dices, properly wrapped it with tissue paper and applied German glue, let it dry for few hours, and I got hard surface then I just wrote N,B and draw heart sign.

It doesn't have to be strictly about something white and black, that I agree on. But in all honestly and no offense to you, but what are you trying to show me in your photo? I just don't see the point.

We have streets here too. :p

All I have to say...Is amazing. Thanks for sharing the setting though, I don't currently own a very good camera, neither do i know all the specific terms, so I excuse if I don't get everything out right. But I will buy a good one soon, I am looking at the Canon T3i. Despite that, the idea you had was beyond amazing, and the work you put in it was great as well. What I am going to try is keep more original ideas and try to keep up with you and Kimchi, considering I see you 2 as the best in this job.

same can be said to you, we have oreos too =/
there is nothing really special in your picture. its just oreos open and letters written on them and yet people vote for it because they like oreos.

the reason why I took that picture, at night, is because I like they way how the area looked. dark with light breaking through the leaves and gaps between the trees, and I thought it will look good in black and white. In my opinion it does look good
here is the picture without the tag.

I took test pictures, to make sure that I got the right settings and the right angel, and this is one of them :/

Oreos are yummy! :3

But yeah, no. That was not the point. You clearly didn't understand my post. So why don't you let me message you this in details, after you enable your profile. And let me make this clear, please. I'm offended, by you and early by Six Pāths. I'm only asking a mere question, but it seems like both of you take my photo too lightly and "simple" as SP said. I put time and effort in all. Craving letters on Oreos isn't as easy as it sounds. Unless you've done that before, than yes.. Call it simple! :p

Alright, I didn't say this for you to be called offended. But the way how i view it, how Hells views it, how many people view it in my stand point. It is simple. You didn't lose, time, money, energy to make it, yet it looks amazing. I call effort what Thor did, take dices, glue them, wait an hour, throw them various times ect. This take time and effort so it isn't simple, it is a payed off hard work. So please don't feel offended by it. I am meaning you did a good job into making something easy to do, and repeatable into something actually good looking. Hard work is it when you work for various days, not something you get done in minutes, and then you later eat.
