So, I was thinking, as usual :3. And a thought came across my mind "If practice makes perfect, why aren't humans perfect?" Now, I automatically thought about greed and selfishness etc. But I wanted to think about it a different way than that and I think I found an answer that satisfies me.

Question at hand: "If practice makes perfect, why aren't humans perfect?"

So, my opinion? It's a bit farfetched from the ordinary response. Throughout time, the sense of what perfection is what people aimed for. And as human nature predicts, people strive towards their sense of what perfection is (We'll call this striving as "up").

But as time progresses, the sense of what perfection is is twisted and morphed into a new sense of perfection "down". Then people go from walking upward (metaphorically) to going down.

And as time progresses again, the sense of perfection changes from "down" to a new one called "forward".

If you're catching on by now. You'd realize that what a sense of perfection is in my opinion, is an unobtainable possession due to the fact that what we believe in changes rapidly due to changing ideals or another persons convincing, it's an interesting twist one what the average person would think of in terms of the question at hand (in my opinion)

Of course I'm dieing to hear what you guys have to say :3. Please, tell me some of your theories as to why we're not perfect?

P.S. Sorry for another discussion about perfection, me being a perfectionist and all, I think about perfection a bit more than I should :3

Because we are not practicing enough, or practicing wrong.

I mean, it depends on what you think practicing really is. Living our everyday life taking small steps to our sense of perfection is one way in which you could look at the situation. :3

No ones perfect...

I understand that, why do you think that though?

Perfection is a myth, not even the atoms are perfect!

I agree, and good thoughts.

Perfection is unobtainable to humans, as we, in and of ourselves bodily, mentally, and spiritually, are inherently IMperfect. The very idea of perfection really is somewhat inconceivable to us. We can understand what perfection is, but when we try to conceive of perfection, it just doesn't work.

For example, try thinking about a "perfect being." Can you even begin to imagine what that would look/be like? If you say you can, you're either lying or wrong. There is no such thing as perfection, at least for life forms like us. Perfection really only exists in manmade concepts, i.e. a "perfect game" of baseball, or bowling. Perfection does not exist outside of ideas or concepts (at least in my limited understanding).

You make some good points about our constantly changing perception of the idea, too. The fact that our ideas of perfection change so much speaks to the fact that it truly doesn't exist.

These are my thoughts. Interesting post, +rep :)

Everyone has their opinion of a "Perfect" Human. As stated above, "No one is perfect." Human/Everyone make mistakes. These is which makes makes us human.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. We each seek out what we find perfect. Some people just feel the need to force their ideals and beliefs onto others. Thus giving the illusion of an ultimate "perfect" person, ideal, etc. At least in my opinion.

Mmm, you just brought up some awesome points. We conceive our perspectives of perfection into everyday concepts, because there is no perfection that exists on a higher level than that. Atleast, that's what I think you were trying to get across. xD

We are not perfect because we keep evolving. As technology, society and science (+ many more) evolves; we have to learn how to operate in that environment. If we were still living in the Stone Age, we would certainly have mastered it.

Society will not obtain perfection unless they stop acheiving advancement.

You and me think alike. That's basically what I said.

They better you are at something the more time it requires to get better at it. Eventually you get to a point where you cannot get better with the time you have.

I would answer more but I would like to say that practice doesn't make perfect but permanent.

I can say in this topic that perfection is relative and it depends on from person to person. Perfection of one person can totally be different from another's. However, like I've said before in your previous thread, perfection does not exist in an imperfect world. A perfect being cannot question himself if he or she was perfect and a person can say that he or she became "perfect" since that means that person was not perfect to begin with. However, there is one candidate that can be absolutely perfect. Only God can be deemed perfect, that is, if you believe in those sort of things.

Being perfect is boring. If such a thing as perfect people existed they would be all the same. It is our faults that make us who we are ;)
