I have been a Pokemon fan from day one, and I can tell you, I have seen many people try to sue Nintendo and Gamefreak over the fact that "Pokemon" are small fragile animals being pit against on another in a fight just to gain money. To me, this just states how ignorant the people are as they cannot even let go a kids TV show. It makes me laugh because other anime such as "DragonBall Z" did not have any problems as far as I know, and they are literally beating the crap outta one another, yet they let that slide (DBZ is so boss). In a way though, I understand why PETA feels this way, but think about. What kid is really gonna send their cat or dog out in a fight and tell them to use "thunderbolt"? I have seen animal abusers that abuse more animals in their life than anything, and they are the ones that have NEVER seen a anime, specifically Pokemon in their life, since most are delinquents and raised to be that way sadly. All they try to do is sue Nintendo to get a HUGE amount of cash, since Nintendo is a multi-billion franchise. Digimon personally, was the exact same thing but in a computer, yet their creatures were the same in feeling and character as Pokemon, and yet they didn't go all over them. There have been many conspiracies Nintendo and Game Freak had to put up with, and some they needed to change (Such as Jynx's color as it was deemed racist) so anyone that knows how much Nintendo has will definitely try ANYTHING possible to get cash in the end. PETA should, instead of worrying about a multi-billion franchise, should be worrying about saving their animals another way, as I DOUBT Pokemon is the cause of animal abusement, and if if they were to take them to court, Nintendo has the money to override them if they wanted to, so in the end, it will fail. How else did Pokemon get this far?
Yes, the recent game "Pokemon: Black and White" story revolves around the antagonist saying that people should not use Pokemon in that manner of battle, as he sees it as "evil". However, the double standard for this goes as YOU, the main trainer, doesn't not force your Pokemon to battle, but instead, let them do it because the Pokemon love and care for you and are willing too. In N's case (The antagonist that wants to help Pokemon not be slaves) mentions the bad guys, who are using them for the wrong purpose. The moral of the game is, is that there are people that treat their Pokemon with love (Like the main player) and then there are the ones that treat them badly. Imo, the game represents how people are irl, and how you do have the people that treat your animals with love and the ones that treat them badly. Whether these people view it this way or not is up to them. I have NEVER in all my years as a Pokemon fan, abused or misused my right to punish any animal I see, or even try sending them into battle. I gaurentee that if you ask any Pokemon fan, more than half will tell you they never did such a thing. So imo, this whole thing, whether it be old or new, basically is just ANOTHER sad attempt to sue Nintendo for all the billions they have. That is how I feel though :3
