As you make your clones i create a giant swamp underneith you trapping your clone before it can transform, so as your clones appear there trapped in the swamp that i made very deep so you sink trapped up to at least your waist in seconds and i drop 2 smoke bombs between us blocking your vission of me so if you continued the bind jutsu it wouldnt work. The as your vission is blocked i send an unblockable blade of wind at you through the smoke and then make 2clones in front of me.

Watching you closely with my sharingan, I detect the handseals for the swamp, and quickly right after spawning the 3rd clone, the one that wasn't transforming or throwing the other one quickly does a simple handseal, making a very tall earth rampart rise out of the swamp,

lifting us all up, because your throw the smoke bombs, you can't see, so you launch the wind blade and make it crash into the rampart, but that doesn't have much effect because of the rampart being so big.
So the rampart starts to rise right after you throw the smoke bombs, and the 4th clone throws kunais with explosive tags attached, aimed for your feet.
The real me, sits still while, the 1st clone, the one that was going to grab the transformed clone, uses: (Doton: Tsuchi Mine) - Earth Style: Earth Mine

making earth whips burst out of the ground as the kunais are about to hit the ground and just as the other clone compresses the earth around you.

So: You make swamp -> as you throw smoke bombs 3 clones do their jutsus at the same time: Earth rampart right before you send the wind blade into the rampart, and earth compression right before you make the clones, right after the earth blade, and earth whips grab you right after you make the clones, by this time the kunai reaches you.

And no, it wouldn't its liquid after all, it would just run down the rampart as it starts to rise.
Also, you wind jutsu is pretty small, considering the size of a normal A rank wind.

My wind jutsu would clear the smoke so id be able to see your rampard and what your clones are doing through the gap in the smoke. (Stupid move, forgot you had the sharingan). And way as the smoke clears to reveal the jutsu your clones are doing, i quickly bite my thumb and rub the blood on the back of my hand using the summoning jutsu:

The rampart is huge... the wind that you create to propel yourself up into the air, wouldn't even reach up to the rampart.
As you summon the hawk, and propel yourself upwards, at that same moment the fourth clone uses:

The dropping lid is huge... and having earth affinity, I barely need any handseals, and remember that you are moving upwards on a hawk, and its moving downwards, and your focus is on us as well... , its not like you're looking up at the sky.
The chidori wouldn't be able to cut it in half :S its falling 9.81 m/s^2, and you're moving upwards at a pretty fast speed as well. You might be able to react and charge chidori in your hand, but cutting motion? wait what? You'd prolly punch a hole in the lid for your hand, and then it would hit your head.
Maybe with chidori spear, but not regular chidori...

Yea, but I can bet you the circumstances were different, and we are unaware under what kind of circumstances he did that.
The problem isn't about cutting it, its how you cut it.
If it was a vertical pillar or something, and you move alongside with it, you've prolly be able to cut it easily. But this is different, its huge... like 60-100 meters in diameter... And I can't imagine how your cutting movement works on something that moves so fast, and its dropping down ON you.

Physically it is impossible to cover both you and that hawk with that one chidori. Chidori spear even wouldnt suffice to cover you from the debris that would come from the lid.
