What perspective have you had? Have you witnessed racism or have you been a victim of it?

This song shows an amazing perspective(If you can understand):

So I'll reiterate. Are you a victim of racism? Are you a witness of racism? Let us know. I am both. :coffee:

Racism is alive and well, and it's not going anywhere. As a black person of course I've experienced/witnessed some racism, although not always blatantly racist, it's still fairly obvious when something is different for me because I'm black.

I also can't stand when people act like it doesn't exist anymore, or when white people are claim that they're discriminated against as much as other groups. Another thing that pisses me off is when people have assumptions about race in America but don't realize or reject the fact that many of the problems are products of America's blatantly racist, oppressive days from which the effects are still apparent. (i.e when people claim blacks are ghetto, poor, etc)

They are lel

Just look at college's, if you're black you have a very high chance to get accepted than whites

Through history whites has been oppressed and discriminated too
Like every other race

Right know, the trend is to hate whites because they're bad
Like in Britain where whites weren't allowed to visit an anti-discrimination-meeting

I've witnessed a black man being harassed at a hot topic and I was also a victim of it when I was in middle school long ago, I went to an African American dominant middle school and as one of the few white kids there I was picked on for my color.

I'll be honest, I never see as much racism as I hear about. Aside from that, I've heard good men who are good to all kinds say prejudice things, but never act upon them.

I constantly see it and it is really sad tbh. It really isn't just black and white. I see it in all races and people are so ignorant for being racist. I stick up for people when i see people being racist or prejudice towards them. It's not okay at all.

If you think white people are discriminated against as much as an ethnic group then you are highly delusional and in denial. Tell me how white people have been oppressed as much as, say black people? Did you know applications with a Black or Hispanic sounding name are less likely to get picked over a white sounding name? Even if the former has better qualifications.

The system we have here in America has not changed much over the years, it was built on oppression of ethnic races, and the only thing that has changed was eradication of Jim Crow laws.

You want to know why black people SEEMINGLY have a higher chance of getting into a college? Because some 40 years ago it was near impossible to get into college for a black person, no matter what there credentials and prior excellence in school, and when they did, some of them didn't make it because of all the racism and discrimination played in that college setting. Laws changed because they understand how unethical that was, and now they have a quota to feel. Truth is black people make a small percentage of the population, and do to the poor socioeconomic background, they don't have the resources or just don't go to college, so they are in high demand, just to fill that quota, which still only counts for a small percentage of college admissions. White people seem to have a harder time because they are simply not in demand, they make up the majority of the population, so obviously it's going to be harder. They are making up for past mistakes, but it's still not going to fix this broken system, get real kid.

Op: I've been a victim of racism and discrimination. I am black, the majority of my friends are Hispanic, white and black, so I say I'm pretty open to anything, but even my white friends understand to a degree that things are harder for me. I don't dwell on it like some people do, but it irritates me when people say stupid things as if we are all equal and have the same opportunities and success rates among peers. I go into every situation with a positive mindset, but you can't change the system.
