Personal mini-arcs

Do you think the characters should have personal mini-arcs where they maybe are shown cooking, buying weapons, training, hunting. Just practicing their skills overall. And showcasing their emotions at that particular time. Maybe a Sasuke post-massacre gaiden, or a Naruto gaiden during his academy days. Obito's life before the Kannabi Bridge mission.

I would imagine that if they were orphans, this idea would be even better since they'd be by themselves, concerning the Boruto generation

I write my fanfics like that. But actually having it in the manga/anime might have been boring. It could have worked in an open worlds RPG if Naruto ever had one :| Like NPCs going around doing stuff according to their schedules.

This could work if there were some sort of plot at least (like the Sasuke shinden exploding human arc). However, I don't see it being very interesting if we're just watching some lonely kid shop, train, eat, sleep, etc...
