[Discussion] Personal favorite childhood anime?

For this discussion we are bringing up the animation that we all grew up with, and stick with throughout a good portion of our respective childhoods. Please bring up the anime that you tremendously loved at the time to the point of binge-watching it every single day when it came up on television during a certain time of the day. I will start first for this exercise.

My personal favorite anime growing up as a child was Rurouni Kenshin, there was something so majestically awesome of seeing the fight encounters along with learning the brutal history of the Boshin War along with the prosperity of the Meiji Period. Plus at the time I was fascinated by Saito Hajime due to him being the first anti-hero character that I truly enjoyed along with the pace of the consistent storyline of the series. Even the fillers themselves were enjoyable for me to watch.

Any particular anime that you grew up with as a child? Please enlighten us all, along with describing how it was like for you at the time.

I didn't know what anime was until I was about 17, after I'd finished Death Note on Adult Swim. I did watch the original Yu-Gi-Oh! a lot of the time, though, so I guess that'd be mine.
