Persona 4 The Animation: No One is Alone is basically the special episode following the P4 anime, also known as episode 26. Pretty awesome episode, though more than anything it makes me wanna play the game. Yu got some more character development and pretty much dominated the screen time for this episode. Apparently this follows the game's true ending or something of the sort. I can definitely say that this was a more grand ending than episode 25 of P4, which is really quite something because that was a pretty awesome finale. More plot twists that weren't revealed in the rest of the anime and some of the most awesome action in the series as well.
Though a lot of it wasn't as good as it could've been. Obviously with only one episode, things are gonna be really rushed. Even though I never played the game, I could definitely tell it had to condense a lot of material to get everything to fit in the given time frame. While this didn't ruin the episode, it definitely made everything pretty confusing. A lot of the stuff that took place wasn't clearly explained, so as a first-time viewer of pretty much anything Persona, I was pretty lost with some of the story elements. Not to mention that with only one episode, everything had to go as fast as possible to get to the end, and even though the action was treated well, a lot more could've been explored than there was time for. That said, the part that showed Yu's true thoughts was pretty touching and definitely added to the overall awesomeness of the scene, making things pretty badass overall.
Persona 4 The Animation seems to have done a pretty good job of making an anime out of a video game (and not a VN at that, though I've heard some elements of the game are similar). That said, I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I missed out on having not played the game so now I definitely have a lot more interest in Persona 4 as well as the Megami Tensei series as a whole. Hopefully I can play through these games sometime in the near future.
