Perfect Susano'o

This chapter confirms it, EMS is only needed for perfect susano'o and rinnegan is not needed. Madara says that if people just look at it they die which suggests he used it against other people. We know he gained the rinnegan shortly before his death so there isnt enough time between gaining rinnegan and his death to fight people and use perfect susano'o which means he used it before when he had EMS only.

No ..he didn't say that per se , if you re-read that part ..you'll actually see that he says : " It is said that when a shinobi sees the perfect Susano'o they die "

I think he is speaking of a legend or something that's wrote on the Uchiha Ancient Stone at the Nakano Shrine !
