Nahh i'd prefer if he stayed dead, simply because it would be against all logic for him to suddenly return and be all like "Hey I didn't actually die I was just messing with ya!", if he survived I honestly think he'd have come back to the village, especially since he knew that Nagato was probably going to attack it soon.

He could be revived as an Edo by Orochimaru, since it wouldn't be all weird if Orochimaru had some of Jirayas DNA from back in the days. I still don't hope that happens though, we've seen enough of Jiraya let him rest in peace!!

I don't think that's foreshadowing Jiraiya's return. However it's foreshadowing that team 7 will take up the mantle that the sannin once had and become legendary shinobis. Jiraiya's body is in the Hidden Mist village deep beneath the ocean.... What makes you think their going to bring jiraiya back?

God, no. Jiraiya had THE best death in the series. I don't want him to be walking around and all once more. It'd ruin the impact his first death had.

At this moment Mr. J is one of the few characters who has not been revived. The revivals which have occurred so far have done enough damage to the credibility of the Naruto universe, we don’t need another degrading revival.

I forget when it was said but I'm pretty sure Kabuto said something about Jiraiya's DNA being impossible to retrieve due to his body being at the bottom of the ocean.
