Perfect episode, except...

Why did Naruto and Sasuke not have holes in them or their clothes after those black rods dissolved? That was the only thing keeping this episode from being absolutely perfect.

I think it is because those black spears is some kind of jutsu. it is meant to render someone immobilized, without doing much internal damage. just like in the pain arc.

It's because Momoshiki's black receivers are weaker than Kaguya's. Note that Sasuke doesn't have one either.

Sasuke's and Naruto's fight were the best thing about this episode. You found the clothes not having holes as the biggest issue, here are a few issues I had with it.

Super Momo was able to shrug off a Rokudo users chidori enhanced katana like nothing. Yet wasn't able to stand against a vanishing baby Rasengan by a baby and was floored by it. His body suddenly became flimsy and pathetic from being nigh impenetrable. Borat goes onto hold a giant Rasengan sustain it and use it when he can barely form and maintain a baby rasengan. While hding the rasengan he was able to form SCJ without his hands and divide his concentration from the Rasengan, catch Momo with a Boruto stream and hurt him (something even kakashi could avoid) then dodge his super human speed attacks and hit him with a vanishing rasengan again and hurt him (Rokuo chidori katana couldn't dent him). Then go onto finish SuperMomo and his super charged attacks with a rasengan boosted by a base Naruto who had to go Chakra mode to even fight and hurt Super momo. Yeah and momo gives a seal from his rear end and still no explanation as to why. Just my objective critical analysis of the situation I should think that covers a lot.

Apart from that it's far from perfect nonetheless a good episode.

True but to drop the standards to such a degree is truly pathetic. If the writing wasn't so bad I wouldn't have much issue with it even if I dislike his character tbh. I guess growing up with Kishi has made me used to higher standards that I can't appreciate inferior writing.

Well you can't really write any better if you are supposed to incorporate a kid in a godly battle. Kishi used to create such circumstances that it seemed natural. This writer is bad at creating such scenarios.

That's why I say why add him in the first place? It's better not to have a high tier battle if you are then get rid of him from it. This was all done for the purpose of giving him a handout which I find kind of pathetic on the writers part. This writier moves from being shit to becoming even shitier by shitting on Kage and Rokudo level ninja.

I can agree with this. There could have been better ways to develop boruto.

This is a good point but after they got the sages power injuries like that they can still heal from without assistance. It has to do with their high stamina.
