His story was far more personal than Goku's. I feel Goku Vs Freiza fight was more of a Vegeta fight than Goku's. Vegeta felt the pain of losing everything where as Goku completely forgot about it. That is why I feel Vegeta had a stronger purpose of being a hero than Goku.

I understand your opinion but to me, Vegeta is not true hero. he killed over hundred of innocent people in different planets. I don't see Vegeta being true hero, more like anit-hero due to refuse many helps from z fighters and believe he could handle this alone. He made many mistakes that could make universe in danger like allowing cell to become perfect form.
Vegeta's purpose is surpass Kakarrot, not becoming hero.

vegetaʻs vengeance against freeza was for pure selfish reasons: aka freeza took away tons of stuff from vegeta. It was not heroic in the least. Cell saga vegeta and later are the versions that begin to show heroic qualities and motivations.

Cell may be cool to look at and watch, but if you start to think about all the possibilities he had at hand. Especially with Gero being his creator, his character falls apart and his idea of "Perfection" is shattered.
