Naruto is the main character..did they really think he was going to stay dead at this point in the story? If it was the end then maybe, but in the middle of a war...

Why would someone drop the manga if Naruto comes back? They already had 7 jinchuuriki killed off when their bijuu were extracted. I think that's already enough evidence to prove that it kills you.

As for Naruto though, he a actually still did die so the rules still applied. He's coming back because he's probably the reincarnated Sage.
