Itachi can use suiton, water makes sand too heavy for Gaara to control.

...No, it doesn't. It's already been proven that the only thing that can nullify Gaara's sand is Oily Water. Itachi may have one, but he doesn't have the other. Gaara can still control the sand, heavy or not.

And Itachi isn't Kisame; he may be able to provide some water, but compared to the desert that Gaara can create, that little bit of Suiton is nothing.

Itachi at most is top 10 flat. He had the potential to become one of the strongest in the series but because of his stamina, it greatly limited his abilities. And its pretty much evident that sasuke has surpassed him and to a much bigger extent, naruto.

And lol, Itachi had to literally step back from fighting Killer B because he didn't want to. I don't know what you call losing a fight, but compared to the characters who have been expanded upon.

I was recently reviewing their fight. Kabuto definitely outmatched both itachi and sasuke. Also gotta keep in mind that itachi was edo tensei at the time, Not to mention it was 2 v 1, both wich were uchiha and had susanoo. He even had to use a haxed ability in order to stop kabuto.
