[Discussion] People that ask for rides but never pay for gas

I know some fockboy who charged my friend like $50 a month at least for his mom to drive him from school when they both live right by each other.

My friend decided that it was cheaper than the bus so he did it anyways but the guy could have done it out of being a good neighbor.

I know this isn't the case with you but the thread just reminded me of that.

damn that's some fockboi shit right there. My co worker lives close to the job but I live further away to be honest like a good 15-20 minutes :lol

When you have to take your time and money just to help a friend, without them doing anything in return, they're just using you.

There's a difference with driving your friend to a place you were going to anyways and just giving him free rides.

So what's your opinion on this matter?
I have a co worker that I give a ride home, he doesn't live far but I'm starting to get aggravated from dropping him off every time I have to put in gas in my car. Do you guys think he should at the very least throw in $5 every few days to help a bro out? Should I cut him loose? Tonight I'm sure in two hours from now he's going to ask for a ride but I'm most likely going to say " I can't waste my gas, I'm low on money" (which I am currently low on)

The thing that ticks me about this situation is that I know him and his wife share a car but I think he can drive it here I'm sure his wife gets home with the car before he leaves allowing him to use the car but maybe he doesn't want to use up their gas. If this is true damn I'll be pretty heated.

something ive noticed, people often forget that they set the precedent for future encounters, if you set the precedent of him not paying you gas money, than all you have to do is change the precedent, im assuming your dealing with another human being, just say from now on i cant afford to give you rides with out a little bit of help for gas money, be polite and reasonable try not to argue about why he couldnt do this or that in the past, just discuss the future, if they are reasonable everything should be fine, if they have a fit, than dont offer them rides anymore.

thats what id try to do
granted some things dont always go as smoothly as they should.

Hell no I live with him and my workplace is 15 minutes away (Or a 20 minute drive if you go as slow as he does jesus H christ) so yea chuckin out that shit almost everyday got me feeling like I'm being cheated for real. * Goes to get a beer*
