People who say it are generally negligent of other peoples' situations and emotions. There's nothing we could really do to stop it, we'll just have to deal with it and let the insult die over time.

As much as we would like it to stop (along with the rest of Cyberbullying) people say hurtful things when they're angered. It's human nature and most importantly it's the internet.

A quick browse on youtube or any other social media site will bring up countless lists of this term and countless suicide letters. It's trolling in it worse form and i don't condone any form of bullying. I myself have been bullied and a bully and for that I deeply hold my head in shame and I'm grateful that non of my exploits resulted in a suicide, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

Although they are just words. The person hearing or reading them could have a mental state that might be tipped over the edge and there is certain enforcement agencies that take this seriously. All one has to do is read up on Amanda Todd (i'm not Amercian, but this hit the news worldwide)

whats stupid is amanda todd only became popular until she committed suicide, there were no "Support Amanda Todd" facebook pages before she committed suicide

You said it's not a good thing to say to someone and I asserted that it's not supposed to be a good thing... Because it's an insult. If my memory serves me well, insults are supposed to be verbally harmful. Saying it should be stopped is like saying all insults should be stopped, which won't happen.

I understand people won't stop with such dreadful sayings, but I hope people will learn to be respectful to others at least just a bit, and realize it's not a clever or good thing to say. Saying such things, it's just too cruel. On the internet or in real life, it still hurts. Every word said or written has meaning and it can be very damaging to the targeted person or have inevitable consequences. I wish for the day we can all just get along, without such things needing to be said, it's really upsetting.
