He's part of the reason, but not the whole reason. If you had lived Madara's life, could you honestly tell me that at that point the only thing you'd be worried about was Tobirama?

The strongest Uchiha's always have someone they love dearly, it is through the loss of that love which gives them their power. For Sasuke, it was Itachi. For Itachi, Sasuke. Madara loved his younger brother, he was once one of FIVE siblings. All of them died, even Izuna, whom he had sworn to protect. But Izuna's death seemed necessary for a higher purpose, the clan.

It was Madara's promise to his last and dearest brother that the Uchiha clan would be protected by it's leader. Madara even went as far as to trust his clan's mortal enemies against the will of his little brother, giving up on revenge, giving up on hatred, all for the protection of the Uchiha! Konoha was just an after thought, the clan was his priority!

Tobirama's demeanor posed a danger towards his promise, Madara foresaw the Uchiha's discrimination and possible extermination at his hands, no one but him and Hashirama knew about Tobirama's true feelings. Hashirama was the only one standing against it all, eventually he and Madara would be gone, and that would signal the end for the Uchiha.

Madara took the initiative.

Well, you are right abt madara, but during tobirama-hashirama discussion which madara overheard, Tobirama was talking abt Uchiha clan people not satisfied as he (best sensor at that time ) could see that spark in their eyes & could conclude that they've not forgiven/forgotten the past too...

Madara looks up to Hashirama like an older brother. Hashirama is his best friends and it the only person who trusts him and knows who he is. Everyone else discarded him, like he was nothing but hashirama is the only one who stood by his side until he left at his own will.

He wanted to see if Hashirama was all talk, or would actually protect his people (Uchiha)... He knows that if Hashirama wasn't around then the Uchiha wouldn't be save.

i can understand what u r trying to say

and i'm not hatin on madara .
nor i think madara was evil
but he was definitely an emo and did acted naively .

he foresaw the extinction of uchiha , but do you think he took right steps to stop it

think about it

i feel if he has worked as an adviser and mentor with hashi and would have tried to gain trust of the villagers . uchiha could have lived in harmony .

him leaving the village was definitely not wise decision it was rather emotional decision .

a leader's decisions decides the fate of so many people , so wise it must be.

well all the villains in NV are emo any way , so no complaining .

Please tell me..........why is it that Madara shares even a fraction of the blame for the way things turned out?

Please think hard about my following statement:

If Madara was truly all of these things that most people of NB believe him to be:

EVIL

POWER HUNGRY

CRAZY........

Then why did Madara stop Hashirama from killing himself?

The way I see it, that would have been perfect for him, seeing as how Hashirama was the only one who could stop him in that era, he was the leader of his enemies, the Senju.

Hashirama's death would have paved the way for the annihilation of the Senju clan as there would be no one else left to stand up to Madara's power.

Madara stopped him because he was convinced of Hashirama's intentions and resolve.

It was completely clarified with that action, that Madara completely forgave the Senju clan for the deaths of his FOUR BROTHERS!

Madara abandoned all of his ill feelings and put all of his trust in the alliance and the dream he once shared with his old friend............which was..........HARMONY and PEACE through LOVE and TRUST!

"SHOWING THEIR GUTS TO EACH OTHER"

But ONE PERSON just couldn't let go of the past.

ONE PERSON just didn't understand the meaning of a fresh start or a peace treaty.

Madara...........lost his whole family to the war with the Senju, 4 siblings and his Father!

If the Uchiha were so prone to hatred as Tobirama believed, then how come Madara gave up on that hatred and his revenge?

How was it that after all the losses that Madara suffered, he was still able to shun his hatred and start anew?

After the peace began, all that Madara had left was his promise to his younger brother Izuna, the protection of their clan!

Tobirama's distrust took that away from Madara!

Madara foresaw that sooner or later, the Uchiha would face extinction at the hands of the Senju because of Tobirama's prejudice, who was next in line for leadership.

So he did the only thing any man would do for the protection of his people, even after the people whom he cared for had abandoned him.

He attacked the Senju before they had a chance to make the first move!

You should understand that Hashirama's behavior towards Madara was mainly aimed at forging the peace. While this was OK, it was very childish for him to think that it could solve the problem. Clearly, the problem betweeen us here is that people like me see clearly that Tobirama is concerned about the future while Madara is still in the past, just like most Uchiha. It is not because we want peace that we need to give the key of the peace to the guy who never wanted it, even if he is strong. Tobirama did this mistake by giving the police force to the Uchiha, and they used it to form a coup d'etat.

Madara was hurt because of his losses, and he became too cautious. This is the reason for all his failure. Tobirama is not responsible of anything related to the Uchiha. He was only protecting his people and the people of Konoha including the Uchiha. I personally think it is wrong to support Madara because he is a single person against many. This is called selfishness in good language.

The worse in this forums and all this crappy thread trying to defend Madara is this. Hashirama and Madara were both leaders. While Hashirama was making good compromises, going as far as to kill himself, Madara was only thinking about him and his clan. In Madara's head, there have never been shown everybody. He does things only for himself or his clan. Hashirama gave him Hokageship knowing people would refuse, but at each occasion, Madara was going for war. Note that while Hashirama was thinking as leader, Madara was thinking like a normal citizen just like Tobirama's level, or even worse. If I were in Tobirama's place, I would never have respected such guy in the way Hashi did.
