Madara was true to his nature as a shinobi, fought with all his might... Killed anyone who he thought was an obstacle. Hashirama was one of those obstacles he thought he needed to get rid of, but here's the thing... When the obstacle ahead towers over you, it drives you do whatever it takes to bring it down... Right? The reason Madara is the way he is I believe is because of Hashirama.

If you think about it, Sasuke became Naruto's rival, saw Naruto's growth and progress, he wanted to be the best. Like in that instant when they fought on top of the hospital. Sasuke realized his Chidori was inferior to Naruto's Rasengan. He wanted to be stronger. Therefore he went to Orochimaru, hence his further corruption.

Madara was second to Hashirama, and him being an Uchiha, his ego couldn't deal. So he wanted to be more powerful, and from the story he told in the last chapter stating his brother willingly gave his eyes to him. For all we know, that was a cover-up. He felt eons away from Hashirama, so he robbed his brother's sight. And still ended up being inferior to Hashirama, this drove him crazy, pushed him over the edge. And when Hashirama refused to kill him, that to me was a spit in the face, why? He was bested, but yet spared... For what? So he can continue to be in the shadow of Hashirama?

Naruto is just like Hashirama, in a way... Their arrogance gets the better of them, though not as straightfroward as the Uchiha. They are the same. Well, this is probably how Madara and Sasuke sees it, creating villans. Thoughts?

Lol. If you're confident enough in your ability, thats called arrogance. Hashirama knows he's stronger than Madara, defeated him countless times, if you're Madara... Wouldn't you think thats being arrogant? Same as Naruto. "I'll win and I'll save Sasuke" = Arrogance.

I don't think it was a spit in the face, Hashi wanted to spare Madara so that he could create the world they dreamed of as adolescents together and have the leaf village. If he would have killed him right there, he wouldn't have come close to the peace he desired, he also didn't want another uprising. I agree that it is partly due to Madara's and Sasuke's arrogance that got them way they are now though. I don't think Madara took Izuna's eyes, from what it seems Izuna came over everything else to Madara. I don't think he would have taken his eyes because of his rivalry with Hashi, don't forget the Uchiha valued love over everything.

True. But the desire to be the strongest also raises the question: Was love enough to drive Madara crazy? I mean IF it was love, why didnt he just kill Tobirama? He's nowhere near Hashirama's level, killing Tobirama would have fairly simple for Madara to do. But no... He wanted Hashirama. I say it was childish rivalry.

Being over-confident in ones ability if being arrogant and it was Madara who knew he was not as strong as Hashirma then what will you call this ????

And as for Naruto and Sasuke ; Sasuke was having a superior attitude that he is the avenger and Naruto became strong because he wanted to save him from his arrogance and hatred

Hmm, that one is questionable. I believe love might have drove him crazy, similar to how Sasuke and Obito changed after they lost someone they loved (Rin and Itachi). I think Hashirama said Madara's attitude changed after Izuna's death and he obtained EMS. Also, Madara was the head of the clan fighting the Senju so he must have always been fighting Hashi, I doubt he ever really had the chance to attack Tobirama without Hashi's interference.

Hashirama sh!tted on Madara day in nd day out... They would fight and Hashi would win. Thats enough to push almost any Uchiha over the edge. Why would Hashirama fight Madara still? There are at least two sides to everyone... Like Madara, he valued the love of his brother dearly, but also found joy in fighting and destruction. Hashirama was a calm, collected spirit who was always thinking about peace and love? He fought Madara day in nd out because he more than likely enjoyed the fighting. True he wanted to pursue the dream they both had. But at the same time... His clansmen were dying. He could have wiped out the Uchiha, like the Leaf's council had Itachi do. My point is... Madara probably couldn't stand Hashi and his indirect insults. This made him into the man we know now.
