[Discussion] People grossly overestimate chapter lengths

Every week, I come on these forums to check out predictions for the next chapter. And I can be sure that 95% of them will predict way too much. Sometimes I wonder if i'm even reading the same manga as everyone else. One chapter is, what, about half an episode? Don't people realize this?

Last week people were predicting that the previous hokages would join the battlefield, there would be a bunch of happy reunions, and Naruto would recieve his gift. And even after the pretty insignificant chapter 628 was, people are already predicting that in 629 Kakashi and Obito will fight, they will start reminiscing about old times, the subject of Rin will come up, Kakashi will explain himself, AND Obito will turn good and join the battle against Madara. Really? That would take a minimum of 3 chapters, more likely 4.

I'm sorry. This may seem like an odd thing to get annoyed over, but after years of this, I finally had to say something.

P.S- 629 is not going to come out tomorrow. All a double chapter means is that the manga will be on break the following week. I swear, I have seen someone asking a question about this in every other thread. Just thought I'd get that out of the way.

Well said (and you're right)! The Hokages and Sasuke joining was predicted back when they were first revealed and it only just happened!

Also, people think the chapters are written once a week and Kishimoto is just drawing as he goes, but he's had this stuff drawn for awhile.

This chapter had 4 more pages than the average chapter's 15-17, which makes it have more content to satisfy us for the double issue.

I agree to some extent, imo i think the OP of a prediction thread is just trying to be creative on how THEY would think it would go(but with some real possibility to it not just down right unthinkable) i see it more of entertainment purposes not 100% accurate prediction. I've read some reallyyy good fan prediction that was long but was a great read even though it probably wouldn't of happened, again just for entertainment purposes lol

Agreed, I expected more from this chapter. Especially since we had to wait two weeks to read it.

can you really get mad at kids tryna figure out what's gonna happen??? my cousin does it all the time, when something huge occurs in the manga he tries to solve the whole damn manga in that instant....people are just like that. i feel you tough.... anime episode is like 3 chapters.i hope this filler in the anime is long so there won't be fillers for a while hopefully 26 episodes with no fillers. that should cover the intro for madara...sasuke and itachi fighting kabuto... and it will finish with the unmasking of tobi revealing it to be obito.
