They talk about the characters as if they've had advantages their entire life... um no.
Having the kyuubi held back Naruto and Sasuke was held back eventually by the curse seal.
Woohoo, healing advantages and a extra power boost! Along with uncontrollable rage, anger and deterioration of your body on the long run. (Counts for both kyuubi and curse seal).
It wasn't until these characters themselves got control of what they have to use it to their advantage, so that "power source reliability" bull shit needs to stop. Not many anime characters learn everything themselves from scratch, obviously a few but not all. Back on topic, Naruto WORKED to control the kyuubi, Sasuke made SACRIFICES to increase his skill use with his sharingan. People talk about them like they've been handy downed their entire life.
Another thing, why doesn't anyone count the Kyuubi and Naruto as one? To seal means to pact two into one. The Kyuubi is still himself but he and Naruto are one when he's sealed shut inside him. Its within his soul for sake...
When people say Naruto vs Sasuke they don't consider that what they have makes them the character they already are. Naruto n' Sasuke without Kyuubi or Sharingan will still be an overpowered fight, seeing as how these two could've received training from others. You don't need a pair of eyes or a beast's chakra to be a god in the Naruverse, you could master sage mode, eight gates, or create your own jutsu to level yourself with the level of a god, as proven by Might Guy.
