Lmao. Viz’s translations are the best we can get. They're not perfect (since these professional translators are humans and humans are capable of making mistakes), but they're the most reliable people who we can trust for, when we're concerned over the accuracy of translations. These people are paid for their work, and their products (volumes, databook, etc...) are bought by millions of customers all around the world. It's their job to keep the integrity of their products to ensure customer satisfaction, otherwise their sales would drop. Thus, VIZ spends much more time and resources on their work (which overall correlates to higher quality), compared to illegal scanlation groups that are runned by fans.
MS’s translations aren't all that good as people praise them to be. They tend to be fancy with their translations and would do anything to make it more appealing to the readers e.g. adding vulgar words to a character’s dialogue to make that character seem more badass or something.
MP’s translations are usually closer to the raw meaning, but they tend to make a lot of mistakes as they rush their translations (their scans are always released first). You can tell they’re rushing when you see unclean pages, incorrect use of grammar (didn’t even bother to proof-read their work thoroughly), untranslated side-texts (such as those in the colour spreads), etc...
Not saying MS and MP are bad tho. In fact, I'm grateful they scanlate our favourite mangas and give us the chance to read manga early, and read it without paying a cent for it. They're just not better than VIZ.
That may be true, but VIZ is a reputable organisation known for its great translations. It's one of the reasons why so many people buy their products.People on mass sales do not get paid for accuracy. They get paid for doing what the mass prefer and what sells.
Data books were success in sales, but not with consistency. Instead of clearing contradictions, it created more and have to have naruto fans to make theories try to explain additional problems
hihi. There's something that's been bothering me , i remember reading a thread a few days ago where some user on here said the Viz hires freelance translators & that being the official translation means nothing. Basically he's saying mangapanda or *********** is as good as the viz. Meaning two fanmade translation is as good as a professional comany's translation... Is he right? :eww:

@Bold
That's not VIZ's fault. Blame the author of those data books who created those contradictions in the first place. VIZ's job is to only translate mangaka's work.

If that's true then tell your friend that he agrees that there's 2 juubi jinchuurikies as stated by mangapanga and *********** translation.
Viz > MP & MS.
That is the actual translation. Viz simply translate it in a way you like
Do you know English? Read carefully.
Mangapanda states that both hagoromo and hamura fought the juubi and then they sealed inside both of them! meaning 2 juubi jinchuuriki, which doesn't even make sense as stated by hagomoro.
*********** states the same ''we fought against ten tails and we sealed it within ourselves''
Viz actually does the correct version by saying that '' battled ten tails and sealed it inside me''.
You're just grasping for straws now.Reputation is basically feedbacks. Its feedbacks from people who likes the translations, not necessarily means accurate in translations, so the reputation doesn't change much here when we actually seen how off their translations can be
If the author created contradictions(meaning creating different divisions), would it make sense when translators starting to take sides?!
You need to understand this manga has many inconsistency(things can not be translated in a definite way)
When viz can stated it so clear and specific, the are not only inaccurate but very misleading as well
That is the actual translation. Viz simply translate it in a way you like
Yes that's what I said, do you believe most translators would make such obvious error except viz?
You're just grasping for straws now.
When I say great translation, I'm solely referring to the accuracy of the translations. Not how appealing it sounds. If that was the case, then why are VIZ known for its "great" translations when MS's translations sounds much better than theirs for the majority of the time? Like I said before, MS has a habit of making their translations flow better and sound nicer, at the cost of accuracy.
I'm not gonna bother with you anymore. If you think that other scanlation groups are better translators than VIZ, then good for you.

Can you speak Japanese? Read the raw and tell me if there's swearing in it...Viz don't include cursing, which there is a lot of in Naruto. So obviously it's not accurate
I dont know what you're saying..?What bases you use to measure accuracy when you do not know Japanese?
You pointed out you measured with reputation, and I stated the problem when you rely on reputation
And how does ms has a habit of making it sound better and flow better when inoto gave an example of viz making it flow better and sound better instead?
Unless organic dinosaur is a laid off viz translator. I'll stick to the viz.Organic Dinosaur beats all of them. Viz is nice , but they Americanize too many of the words.
