People can't really use the whole 'Sasuke got manipulated' excuse

Thats like saying Obito is justified because he was manipulated by Madara or that Nagato was justified because he got manipulated by Obito (I think). Either way, Sasuke followed out if his own will like Obito and Nagato did, so by saying that, you're contradicting yourself by saying Obito and Nagato weren't in the same situation.

Orochimaru literally said "Sasuke is different from when the time me and Tobi were manipulating him". The manga clearly states he was manipulated. He was manipulated by Itachi into believing that Itachi was a heartless killer and his life goal was to kill him, when in reality Itachi loved him and was doing it so Sasuke could get stronger and protect himself. Orochimaru manipulated him to have him gain power so he can be Orochimaru's next body transfer. Obito manipulated Sasuke into becoming another pawn at his disposal. The early start to the war halted that though.

I didn't say he wasn't manipulated, I just said the fact that he was manipulated doesn't make him justified.

At any point in time, he could've listened to any of the three, said, "Nope", then turned around and walked away.

The manipulated excuse is a bit of a joke but honestly unlike Pain and Obito half the stuff Sasuke did was justified IMO

Its just the part of story to progress the story further. Madara manipulated Obito. Obito manipulated Pain & Sasuke. For a short period of time, Oro also manipulated Sasuke to join Oro's side.
