*Urasan and Saki await their sensei at a dojo, full of training dummies, in Kirigakure*

Urasan: It would seem that neither sensei nor us had to travel far. xD
Saki: Much has changed, whether for better or worse... It is a new era!

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

Urasan: Well, taijutsu is considered, more or less, hand-to-hand combat.
Urasan: Though it is one of the three basic tenets of being a shinobi, in most cases, it never requires the use of chakra.

*Both brothers take a moment to flex their arms*

Saki: Instead of large reservoirs of chakra, practitioners and certainly specialists need to possess a great deal of stamina.
Saki: Many opt for daily, intensive training; the faster/stronger they become, the more lethal their taijutsu becomes.

*With a twist, the brothers turn their attention towards a training dummy and proceed to pummel it with a flurry of fists.

Urasan: Naturally, there are exceptions; the Hyūga, whom insert their chakra into their enemies, are a good example.
Saki: Another example would be some of the Raikage, whom have combined ninjutsu and taijutsu to make nintaijutsu.
Saki: Typically, taijutsu is preferred when conserving chakra or when attempting to eschew the use of hand-seals.

Alright well that was a good a well thought explanation. But in your own words, aside from the formalized answers what do you think about the hand to hand combat you've seen here in NB? Such as taijutsu fights and what you see people perform? Just want to hear your thoughts of innovative things you may have seen or taken into your arsenal.

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

It's cool, I understand. Thanks for the compliment though!

Though it would seem that many people prefer to just spam powerful elemental techniques in most encounters, with that being said, some members actually do make an effort to close distance and enjoy using taijutsu and freeform hand-to-hand combat to outmaneuver their opponent(s). Looking at several recent and old Kaguya Tests:

Typically, from what I've seen, people use the standard taijutsu moves to start off and then cover any openings that are exploited by the countering enemy with freeform. When it comes down to it, freeform is seemingly all about the amount of detail one can put into their descriptions. Perhaps some 'innovativeness' would be how people are able to use their surroundings and even each other to navigate their blows and stances towards the intended target.

Awesome thats exactly what I was looking for. Theres a certain innovative way people use to describe their blows and which way their limbs move. Sometimes being "too" descriptive is a bad thing as well. And sometimes certain words arent good to use to describe how you fight because it can be confusing to figure out: which direction a limb may be coming from, is it a hook, is it a jab, uppercut. Also what position your limb is in when performing such movements. Such as knowing that when you extend for a "hook" you can expect your body to further extend when your target is missed, leaving you at a disadvantage depending on the scenario. Same variables with kicks, and blocked/parried attacks

Typically I tell my taijutsu students to think of themselves as being highly athletic. Your a shinobi so you should treat yourself as such. Think of flips, somersaults, cartwheels, and things your typical average joe couldnt do. Dont limit yourself unless youre going way outside of the box of the narutoverse.

Understood?

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

*Following sensei's instruction, the brothers separate and begin to run several laps around the field found in front of the dojo. As they move, they make sure to keep their pace steady and complete the course once... twice... thrice... and so forth, until they have done so for a total of ten times. Once finished, they turn to sensei and await further instruction.*

Urasan: Damn, I-I'm pretty t-tired now...
Saki: And this is just the beginning...!

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

Urasan: Gah! That hurts, sensei!
Saki: Oi, oi! Be careful, my face is... important.

*Heeding sensei's words, the brothers lay down in a prone position with the palm of their hands placed against the ground. Making sure to keep count, Urasan and Saki then begin to use their arms to continuously raise and lower their body. As they count out... one... two... three... and so forth, their exercise continues on for some time. Eventually, after they both say 200 out loud, they pick themselves up (now sweating profusely) and await further instruction from sensei.*

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

*As sensei finishes talking, Urasan and Saki plant their feet firmly on the ground (about shoulder-width apart) and begin to lower themselves slowly whilst keeping their backs neutral. Keeping their body tight throughout, they then lift back up and proceed to repeat the entire process 199 times without pause... Only taking breathes in between each.*

Urasan: Gah! The pain... >_<
Saki: Sensei, are you trying to kill us?

*After a taking a five minute break to catch their breathes and drink some water, the brothers head over to a pair of elevated bars and grip them with their palms facing outwards. Using their strength, the brothers pull themselves up until their chins are above the bars and then lower themselves gradually. After doing one, they proceed to do 99 more.

Urasan: Oooh. My arms... They're sore now. T_T
Saki: W-Water... I need w-water...

*As sensei's clone appears, Urasan and Saki (side by side) lunge towards the idle target and extend their right and left arms, respectively. As they move their arms, the brothers also clench their fists and aim for the clone's chest. Without halting their rapid motions, the brothers strike the clone with considerable force and send it careening backwards.*

(Konoha Reppū) - Leaf Gale
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points:10
Description: This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.

Re: Taijutsu with Nagato..

*Merging bodies with Saki residing in Urasan, the brothers lunge towards the idle clone of sensei. Once within striking distance, Urasan firmly plants his right foot on the dojo's flooring, crouches down, and then just as suddenly makes a full, counterclockwise pivot with his left foot extended out. As the blow connects with the clone's unguarded legs, it finds itself completely off balance and falling backwards... Only to suddenly disperse in a small puff of light smoke.*

(Konoha Senpū) - Leaf Hurricane
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points: 10
Description: A taijutsu where one launches a succession of high kicks and low kicks. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark connecting to the rib cage area. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint.

The object of this is to gain momentum on your opponent (running), so that you can rise up and start delivering a high kick so that his attention is drawn to it, and then a low kick which should be harder to evade or block due to blocking the high kick. Its good to try and use both your legs for it.
