Why is Danzo not allowed to fight. If they had him the might stand a better chance.

Not a chance, Pain and Konan would get raped. Is this battle pre- sound invasion?
If it is then they still have Hiruzen also and if it isn't then they have Tsunade.
People are overrating Nagato hardcore, he can take on people yes but Jiraiya pushed him further than anyone else until Naruto and Jiraiya was ambushed by Konan.
Had he fought all of the Pain bodies at once then he might have been able to get all of them in his sound genjutsu with Ma and Pa. Plus Naruto didn't have control of the fox then so if he got mad then he would have gone into his tailed mode faster thus wrecking Pain's world. And then if he did get to nine-tails then his Minato would have been there to fix the seal thus saving Naruto after he whoops up on Pain in his 6 or eight tails mode.
And I don't know if anyone remembers this but Jiraiya made Konan look like an idiot and would have killed her in like one minute had Pain not showed up. Konan loses easy to a whole bunch of people, Tsunade, Guy, Kakashi, Jiraiya, maybe Asuma, maybe Kurenai, maybe the Ino-Shika-Chou elder trio. Either way she goes out without taking on out many people if any
You guys are way underrating the superiority in numbers and skill Konoha has at there disposal.

Look pein did a number on the leaf (even at that I am being genoris to leaf) during shippuden. And I would not count on naruto, even in tailed beast modes, he is ultimately the one making the movements, and if he is not at a level comparably to pein, it won't matter how much power he is given. J man would be a problem, but remember it's likely he would be busy saving people while fighting. And while 3rd hokage is strong, I doubt since his fighting style was mostly ninjutsu, I think he would at best seal a path or two.

yea konoha wins. id like to mention that during shippuden team guy was out of the village during the attack and only came afterward. thts arguably the first or second best team next to team kakashi. if lee and guy go gates on the pain bodys with jiraiya in sage mode kakashi tsunade healingg everyone so they can fight as much as they want kurenei whos great at genjutsu. asuma who was a member of 12 gaurdian ninja. hiruzen since he was before shippuden. jiraiya almost beat pain by himself so the entire village would just rape pain. of course pain would put up a good fight since he has the element of supprise on his side. and konan can do the 10minute bomb but really kishi didnt create tht until shippuden
