PC problem please help!?

so after my pc broke i had to replace the new hard drive, the problem is i dont have the recovery disk and motherboard is OEM to that windows 7 OS meaning i cant buy a different windows 7 OS. also my windows 7 serial code is half torn so i dont know the whole code. but then i was told i can order the recovery kit from HP support and im not sure will it also come with the windows serial number? will i need the windows serial number if i will already have a recovery disk? or will it have nessesary recovery disks and the serial for my windows 7 OS?

Just install a new version of Windows on the new hardrive... and it'll work fine.

if i remember right im pretty sure the recovery disc comes with and reinstalls windows.

NO. its not going to work, i already attempted that, my motherboard has automatically registered OEM Windows 7 because its not full retail version i cannot install new windows on it, without either upgrading the current version which is currently on my broken harddrive, when i replaced the hard drive, it told me to insert the bootable device, but when i inserted a new windows 7 nothing happened, because the motherboard didnt register it. thats why i need a recovery disk or a windows serial number so i can reinstall the windows on the new harddrive.

From what I remember, there´s a OS in the recovery kit HP sends you.

In my case, it didn´t ask for any code. I just ran the CDs and it started installing stuff.
