So basically i've never really been a PC gamer but University is approaching and my Windows laptop is on it's last legs...

I'm hoping to buy some sort of Mac computer or laptop (would prefer laptop) for Uni but as I know nothing about Apple computers i'd like to know if they can or if there's a certain model/thing I could do to be able to play PC games on it. I don't want to take my huge PS3 to Uni for the 1 game I play on it.

A mac that can play Naruto Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst & Civilisation V, is such a thing possible? Because i'll need to be asking for it for christmas. I heard you can install Windows on a Macbook pro...is this a good/easy thing to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, to be able to play games, something with 5-8 GB RAM is preferred.... Which can cost anywhere from $400 or more.

You'd have to buy a mac, with a copy of windows 7/8. You can't play it on Mac OS itself since it's on Steam, but a Mac can indeed run Windows next to Mac OS.

I've heard Macs aren't that great at it though. And money isn't really an issue as long as it's not like £1000+

Well you see it kinda does have to be an Apple product as i'm personally not a huge fan but i'm going to Uni to do Film Production and all Film Production is basically done on Apple products and Final Cut Pro nowadays. And can Macbooks get up to 8bg ram? I can kinda go all-out and get one of the better products available, money won't be a problem when it comes to something as important as this.

spend 600 pounds and you should be able to play most games medium graphics and it should run 100% smooth

I'd need something that can also run Final Cut Pro though, plus I need to get used to using Macs in a big way considering it's what my profession primarily uses.

Normally you would get your OS preinstalled on your newly bought computer, but since you want a mac, you'd have to buy ( or illegally download ) a copy of Windows.

Once you have both, you can insert the windows disc and boot from it as if you were setting up your windows PC for the first time. Basically, you'll be making a partition ( dividing your hard drive in two ) and put Windows on the empty one. After that, you can either choose which one to boot each time you start up, or boot Windows after starting Mac ( Startup Disk ).

Nahh, it simply turns your 500Gb hard drive into two drives of 250Gb each, or which ever size you prefer of course...

So if I wanted to play Ninja Storm or Civ 5/browse the internet I could use the PC side and if I wanted to use Final Cut Pro or get to grips with using Macs I use the Mac side?

Yeah, but you'll probably be using Mac as your primary system, and boot into Windows whenever you want to play games.
And if I recall, Mac OS X Lion and up are easy to recover, so the process is pretty safe.

One more thing though- I understand that with a Mac I won't be able to really update it or customise it other than adding Windows 7 to it. But that's basically fine with me because i'm not enough of a tech head to build my own PC and I won't be interested in upgrading to play future PC games, I just need to know if a Mac Tower/Laptop (doesn't matter) with Windows 7 installed can play those 2 games smoothly.

I don't really get a choice...It's what the film industry use now...

I think I would prefer the laptop actually, plays DVDs and stuff too.
